Oscar Wilde’s full name was Oscar Fingal O’ Flahertie Wills Wilde. He was born in Ireland on 16th October 1854. He grew up in his intellectual family environment in Dublin. Being tutored at home, he learnt German and French.
While studying at Wilde University, he read so many books written by great authors. He started writing his literary works at Wilde University and his poem book was published. After that, he went to London and started working as a journalist. He continued his literary activities as a spokesperson of atheism. He delivered so many lectures on “English Renaissance in Art” in Canada and America.
In 1890, he was known as a dramatist, of the late Victorian age. In 1895, “The Importance Of Being Earnest” was published and proved to be a masterpiece. When he was at the pinnacle of success, he suffered a grave downfall. Unfortunately, he was convicted and imprisoned. During his hard labour imprisonment of two years, he wrote “De Profundis.”
After completing his imprisonment, he went to France and in 1898, “The Ballad Of Reading Gaol”, a long poem based on his life of imprisonment, was published. On 30th November, 1900 at the age of 46, he left the world for ever.

GHOST
The real name of ghost is Sir Simon de Canterville. Being a ghost, he is a frightening but the central character of the entire novel. He attempts so many times but fails to frighten the family of Mr. Otis. While trying to do so he creates a stain of blood. Such stain can be seen on the floor and even its colour keeps on changing so many times.
On a Sunday night, while sitting on the chair, he is shot by the twins with a peashooter. It is so painful that he cries loudly. After extinguishing the candle, he disappears. In his third attempt, he enters the Washington’s room but he fails in his intention once again as looking at spectre, being frightened, he flees away.
Most of his attempts get failed and he seems to be a helpless and exhausted fellow. Even he attempts to frighten American minister’s family but he is not able to succeed in doing so. Day-by-day, his appearance keeps on being miserable and pathetic. He tried so many times to frighten the new residents but he fails in all his attempts. The sign of pithiness can be clearly seen all over his appearance and thus he is considered to be a pathetic character.
He desires to get a peaceful death so he approaches Virginia, a fifteen-year-old young girl. He gifts her a box of jewelry as a token of her gratitude and being kind to him. Virginia prays for him to get rid of sin and get a divine death.
