THE LIFE YOU SAVE MAY BE YOUR OWN

Once upon a time there was a little girl. She had a stuffed animal bunny that she loved very much.

She took it everywhere, so much that it started to wear. The ears on the bunny fell off, but she loved it just the same.

As the girl got older, she stopped playing with her bunny as often.

One day, she brought her bunny with her to school. She needed to find someone to take care of it.

All day at school she couldn’t find anyone to give the bunny to. Until, a little boy walked up to her after school.

The little boy said, “Do you have any food?”

She said, “I only have what my parents packed me for lunch, but if you’re willing to care for my bunny, then I will give you some of my lunch.”

The little boy said, “Okay. But won’t I need food to take care of your bunny?”

The girl sighed, “Okay. I will give you all I have. But you better pinky promise that you will take care of my bunny forever.”

The boy pinkie promised.

After school that day, the boy took his bunny and his red wagon to the park. He really didn’t want the bunny so he left it with another little boy.

The boy was feeling sad as he was wheeling his empty wagon home. Half way home, he sees a cat. He thinks it looks tired so he puts the cat in his wagon. The cat stays in the wagon for a little ways until the little boy tries to pet him. The cat hisses and jumps out of his wagon.

The little boy goes home with an empty red wagon as the sun goes down.
