A Full Service fly-in Hunting and Fishing Lodge
The Lodge at Little Duck
Exclusivity
We are the only lodge on the lake. You will never see another
boat unless it is a fellow guest at the lodge. As a matter of fact
the closest town is over 150 miles away. Our backyard has
over 200,000 acres of lakes, rivers and streams to fish, hunt
and explore.
Personalized Service
We generally cater to only 12-16 fishing guests and 8-10
hunting guests at any one time. This allows us to provide
highly personalized service to each and every guest.

We have practised CPR (“catch, photograph and release)
for over 35 years. Long before it was popular to do so.

Fully modern Main Lodge. Chef prepared meals along with friendly

The Lodge at Little Duck is located in the heart of Northern
Manitoba’s Sub Arctic Wilderness, a fascinating land that has
changed little over time. Enjoy the quality and comforts of our
Northern 5 Star Lodge and all we offer. Over 150 miles separates
us from the closest road or intrusion, making the wilderness
experience at The Lodge at Little Duck even more adventurous.
Located 255 miles straight north of Thompson Manitoba, our
chartered turbo prop aircraft brings you safely to our 4000’
private airstrip.
This is the land of the midnight summer sun, the crystal clear lakes
that are filled with trophy Northern Pike and Lake Trout and the
rivers and streams that are home to Trophy Arctic Grayling.
This magnificent part of Northern Manitoba is also home to the
Qamanirjuaq Caribou Herd that according to the latest survey
is still estimated at well over 450,000 animals. These Central
Barren Ground Caribou have used both our front and backyard
for their annual fall migration for centuries.
No other lodge this far north welcomes its guests to the
convenience and comforts of an all inclusive Northern 5 Star
Lodge complete with chef prepared meals, individual cabin

cold running water, thermostatically controlled electric heat,
24 hour a day power and a fully modern Main Lodge.

Why Choose The Lodge at Little Duck?
“Wilderness is
not a luxury, but
a necessity of the
human spirit”Your HostDavid FisherGeneral Manager
What some of our fishing guests are telling us...
Fishing“Whether your
passion is fly-fishing,
casting a lure, or
both, the waters
surrounding The
Lodge at Little Duck
is truly a fisherman’s
paradise.”
The Manitoba Monsters
Fish for Trophy Northern Pike, Lake Trout and Arctic Grayling
at our remote Northern 5 Star Wilderness Lodge.
We are located on the northern shores of Little Duck Lake,
which provides easy access to Neganilini Lake and others via the
Wolverine River System. These waters are virtually untouched
and provide unlimited opportunities to catch Trophy Northern
Pike, Lake Trout and Arctic Grayling. This entire system has it
all, hundreds of miles of shoreline with numerous shallow weedy
bays, deep holes, mid lake reefs, open water structure and fast
moving rivers and streams, providing the ideal structure on any
given day to catch these amazing fish. Guests have battled Pike
up to 52.5”, Lake Trout up to 48” and a Manitoba record 22.5”
Grayling was caught within eyesight of The Lodge.
Whether your passion is fly-fishing, casting a lure, or both,
the waters surrounding The Lodge at Little Duck is truly a
“fisherman’s paradise”.
Over the past 4 decades, The Lodge at Little Duck has been
extremely consistent in the practice of “catch and release”.
With only a few smaller fish being harvested each day for
shorelunch, our vision of protecting a “world class fishery”
through conservation efforts was many years ahead of its
time. The winner of this initiative has always been our guests
who reap the benefits of high numbers of Trophy Fish per
fisherman that are caught on a daily basis.
There is little that can compare to the feeling you will experience
in this untouched wilderness, while fighting a fish of a lifetime.
We hope to have the privilege of hosting your fishing adventure
this year. Given the opportunity, we are confident we can
provide you with a fun, exciting and quality fishing experience.
All you have to do is pick up the phone or send us an e-mail.
We will take care of everything else. That’s our promise to you.
Come and Experience the Incredible
Fishing Adventures that Await you on
Little Duck and Neganilini Lakes and
the Wolverine River System.
Future of fishing at The Lodge at Little Duck.
Awesome, Awesome, Awesome!!! The fishing was outstanding.
The accommodations and staff were excellent. After being here
the year prior, I could really see all the improvements you have
made. I look forward to coming back next year again and “rip
some lips”. Also want to book a caribou hunt with you in 2014!!
Jonathon Tomares, MD
While shopping for a new fly fishing adventure at the SCI
Convention, Jessica and I met and talked to Dave Fisher from
The Lodge at Little Duck on the first day of the show. As we
were to learn, Dave runs a high quality operation from top
to bottom starting with efficient pre-trip planning, and on the
ground coordination. Because of my sometimes erratic work
schedule, I was able to connect with Dave at all hours of the
day (not only during business hours) which helped a lot and
was very much appreciated. Although the lodge itself sits in
the middle of the Sub Arctic Wilderness, they make getting here
extremely easy.. The whole fishing experience was way more
than we could ever have anticipated. The accommodations
were very comfortable, the meals were great, and the relaxed
atmosphere made for a very special trip. The only change we
felt was needed over last year was to book our fishing trip
for 9 days this year instead of 7. We will also be adding a few
more guests to this year’s trip, and can’t wait to get up again.
Additionally, we want to book a Caribou or Moose Hunt with
Dave for this fall.
Jeff & Jessica Kimbell, Washington DC
“The fishing was great and the quality and quantity of the
fish is tremendous. The hospitality was exceptional and the
meals were well prepared and delicious. Our guide was very
knowledgeable and made every day extremely fun, interesting
and exciting for us.”
Dave Van Meveren, MN
What some of our hunting guests are telling us...
“Fantastic!!!
This hunt was
everything I was
hoping for and
much more.“Tim Whitney, Chinook MT
Imagine yourself on the open tundra hunting for Trophy
Central Barren Ground Caribou in the middle of the Canadian
Sub Arctic Wilderness. The only thing that might compare
is knowing at the end of the day you are heading back to the
warmth and comfort of a Northern 5 Star Lodge.
Actually, The Lodge at Little Duck is the only full service lodge
that sits in the middle of the annual migration routes of the
Qamanirjuaq Caribou Herd that is estimated at 450,000 animals.
Our Caribou season runs from the first to the fourth week of
September. Traditionally, The Lodge at Little Duck has stayed
open one week longer than most outfitters and although
the weather can sometimes be challenging, the hunting can
be fantastic.
We consider ourselves privileged to have over 500 square miles
of prime Caribou hunting habitat at our disposal. The rolling
landscape is not hard to negotiate and combined with the use
of boats allows us to tailor a hunt to an individual’s preference
or physical ability.
Whether you prefer to hunt with rifle, bow or black powder, we
can put together a world class hunt for you. Hunters return at
the end of the day to a hot shower in the privacy and warmth of
their own cabin. Before settling down to a chef prepared dinner,
everyone gathers in the Main Lodge to share in the adventures
of the day while snacking on freshly prepared appetizers and
sipping ones favourite cocktail.
We also offer the opportunity to harvest an Arctic Wolf as part
of your package. Ask us for details. Fishing in September is
fantastic and is also included in your hunting package. We even
supply quality rods, reels and tackle.
Most hunters young and old seem to have a Caribou Hunt
on their “bucket list”.
If this is the year that will see you scratch this hunt off your list,
please don’t hesitate to contact us to book your hunting adventure.

“Fantastic!!! This hunt was everything I was hoping for and
much more. Food and accommodations are second to none.
The guides were very knowledgeable and accommodating….

unbelievable… Caribou everywhere. Fishing was super as well.
Meals and service…. exceptional. No complaints here.”
Tim Whitney, Chinook MT
“Overall a great hunting experience. I wouldn’t hesitate to
recommend this hunt to anyone. My guide did an outstanding
job and the rest of the staff were excellent. Great meals, great
