• The first to pass union resolutions was the Province of Canada, later Ontario and Quebec.
• Nova Scotia and New Brunswick followed
Outcomes• Separate Roman Catholic school
systems in Quebec and Ontario were guaranteed to remain in the time of the confederation
• The Dominion of Canada was created
After the London Conference• The agreements of the London conference lead
to the British North America Act in 1867• On July 1st 1867 the Dominion of Canada was
created • The chairman of the conference was John A.
Macdonald, and the Queen of the United Kingdom agreed and approved the bill.
