This annual ministry is always a highlight of our yearly schedule. Our sole desire for this "outreach" is to do just that: "reach out" with loving hands to our community by sharing the gospel of Christ with them and feeding

them, providing nourishment for their souls and bodies.

Please pray about what God would have you to do to help us, and that He would shower His blessings on this very important ministry. We are

praying for His wisdom as we plan and prepare.

"Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise

thy glorious name."1 C h r o n i c l e s 2 9 : 1 3

OUR PURPOSEAt Glen Iris, we desire to honor and glorify the Lord Jesus Christ in all that we do. We endeavor to accomplish this by obeying His Word in the following areas: offering the sacrifice of praise, giving thanks to His name continually with the fruit of our lips, doing good and sharing our gifts and abilities, assembling together regularly for worship and instruction in righteousness, and encouraging one another unto love and good works. Our burden is to take the gospel to every creature, in the various ways made available to us. This, we believe, is accomplished by holding fast the faithful Word in teaching sound doctrine (Hebrews 13:15-17; Mark 16:15; Titus 1:9).

Welcome toWe want you to know that we have prayed for you and that we have asked the Lord to bring to our fellowship those to whom we can minister. We trust that you will feel welcomed, that you will be encouraged by worshiping with us, and that you will be a guest of ours again soon. If we can be of assistance to you, we would count it an honor. We desire to minister to you in any way possible. If any of us can be of help to you, please call the church office at 323-1516. Thank you for coming!

WEEKLY ACTIVITIES

SUNDAY SCHOOLSunday school is an important time, dedicated to delving into the Word of God to find all the treasures God has for us there. Our Sunday school teachers systematically teach through the Scriptures each week, line upon line, precept upon precept. There is a Bible class for each age group, and a list of all classes and their locations can be found in the church vestibule.

SUNDAY MORNING & EVENING SERVICESGod has mandated the preaching of the gospel (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15; Luke 24:47; John 20:21). Because we believe that a service should be designated for this purpose, we usually set aside Sunday morning for this important ministry. The teaching ministry of the shepherd is equally important for the equipping of the saints for the work of the ministry. Establishing believers in sound doctrine is best achieved by an expository

teaching ministry. Sunday evening is devoted to this purpose.

We earnestly ask that every sincere worshiper will enter the auditorium in an attitude of reverence, silencing electronic devices, and as the prelude music begins, to prayerfully seek

the Lord's face and blessing.

Please join in the congregational singing, carefully considering what is being taught in the song and, above all, being concerned to worship the Lord in spirit and in truth.

“Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.”

A BAPTIST CATECHISM

Question: What is forbidden in the third commandment?

Answer: The third commandment forbids all profaning and abusing of anything

whereby God makes Himself known (Exodus 20:7; Malachi 1:6, 7; Leviticus 20:3; 19:12; Matthew 5:34-37; Isaiah 52:5).

Question: What is the reason annexed to the third commandment?

Answer: The reason annexed to the third commandment is that however the

breakers of this commandment may escape punishment from men, the Lord our God will not suffer them to escape His righteous judgment

(Exodus 20:7; Deuteronomy 28:58, 59; Malachi 2:2).
