RED CARPET PREMIERE OF KHS MEDIA TEAM’S FILM: BARANGAL SKIN
Welcome back to Kellyville in 2020.
The Red Carpet Premiere of the Kellyville High School Media Team’s film, Barangal Skin, is being held on Friday 21st February 2020.
The event will be held at Event Cinemas, George St, Sydney. There are very few tickets left at this stage.
If you would like to attend, please contact our office on 8824 5955 for details.
Our distinguished guest list includes State MPs and Aboriginal Elders, including Mrs Rita Wright, who was the inspiration for the film.
The Media Team has been working on the project for the last two years. Both before and during filming we have engaged in extensive consultation with Aborigi-nal Elders regarding the content of the film and the associated protocols.
The film combines many stories about the Stolen Gen-eration and the treatment of Aboriginal children who were taken from their families. It also provides a mod-ern exploration of the impact of the Stolen Generation on both Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples.
I would also like to extend a warm welcome to the new staff at our school.
NEW STAFF
Ms M Spero—Rel. HT PDHPE for Mr D Lumley on long service leave.
Mr T Kearns—replacing Ms V Joyner who is retraining as a School Counsellor.
