Welcoming all, we, the Spirit-filled parish of St. Thomas More, value our Roman Catholic faith by celebrating the sacraments, breaking open the Scriptures, and joyfully offering ourselves in service to others. Bishop Vann has extended the special dispensation to attend Sunday Mass. We will continue to livestream Masses for those to wish to participate at home.

We are getting ready to welcome you back next weekend! Here are a few ways we are

    preparing to keep STM safe:

A team of ushers will be available at each Mass to ensure a smooth transition to attending Mass, while following social distancing and safety guidelines. Please follow their directions.

The church will be thoroughly sanitized/cleaned before and after each Mass, including all entryways and doors. Holy water fonts will be empty, and hymnals removed.

Masks and hand sanitizer will be available, if needed. All local safety orders specifically relating to proper face

coverings will be followed. People will be instructed to not engage in any physical touch,

such as greeting each other. Signs and other instructions will encourage normal safe

practices necessary to avoid the spread (e.g. cough or sneeze into a shirtsleeve, handkerchief, or tissue; avoid touching the eyes, nose, and mouth).

Ventilation will be increased as much as possible by opening doors, as weather permits.

Those over age 65 and/or with a co-morbidity are encouraged to consider not returning to Mass just yet, and anyone showing any symptoms of sickness, or anyone who has a household member who is sick or showing symptoms of sickness should not come to church.

The sign of peace and distribution of the Precious Blood is currently suspended.

Communion will be distributed at the end of Mass. A separate line will be formed for those who wish to receive

the Eucharist on the tongue after others have received communion.

The church will not be open for prayer or any other ministry gathering, other than Mass.

The parish office remains closed to the public until further notice.

For a complete description of our safety protocol, visit our website at www.stmirvine.org

  • My Dear People,

Today’s theme on the Readings: GRACE AND ETERNAL LIFE Moses is a man after our own hearts, for haven’t we all dealt with more than our share of stiff-necked people? Indeed, haven’t we all gotten a little stiff-necked ourselves at times? Complaining . . . impatient . . . quick to anger. How lucky for Moses—how lucky for all of us—that God is exactly the opposite! And we don’t even have to guess about it. The Lord tells us so directly. Accordingly, Moses does what we all need to do. Even with the tablets in hand, he bows down and asks for God’s forgiveness and grace. Encouraging us to live together in peace—and in God’s favor—the Apostle Paul knows all about this grace, joyfully invoking Christ’s grace on us along with God’s love and the Holy Spirit’s. “Rejoice,” he says. And when it comes to rejoicing, John offers us the gladdest words of all: the assurance of eternal life through Jesus. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.

  • The Library Corner Most Holy Trinity Sunday

The St Thomas More Parish Library staff would like to

wish all our parishioners a Happy Most Holy Trinity Sunday. The Library will be closed until further notice.

Trinity Sunday celebrates the divine Catholic doctrine of the Trinity, the three persons of God; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The feast of the Holy Trinity is this; there is one God and in this one God there are

three Divine Persons; the Father is God, the Son is God, the Holy Spirit is God. Yet there are NOT three Gods,

but one, eternal, incomprehensible God. This feast should make us mindful that actually every

Sunday is devoted to the honor of the Most Holy Trinity, that every Sunday is sanctified and consecrated

    to the triune God.
