President’s Report Mrs. Denise LePera

Happy Summer!

First, let me offer my prayerful wishes for a very peace-filled and safe summer. Hopefully it is

a time for renewal and re-energizing not just for our girls, but for each of you who make many

sacrifices to send your daughters to us, and who work so very hard at bringing up such

wonderful young ladies!

Summer Projects

The summer is bringing much activity here on Grant

Avenue. Summer Enrichment for Pre-8th and Pre-9th

graders began last week. How great to see so many

wonderful young ladies – both current Pandas and future

Pandas!

One of the many projects happening on-campus that you

might notice is the paving project for the circle and the

driveway leading to Stevenson Lane. Some of the curbing

is being replaced as well. The wooden poles at the rear of

the upper parking lot are gone and have been replaced

with a fence and gate. The fence along the soccer field

that backs into Delaney Hall is being replaced and will

soon have a bright, new windscreen. More updates on

summer projects to follow.

Advancement Department

Congratulations to the Advancement Team on a successful year! It was quite an impressive

first year…the Nazareth Fund brought in more than $100,000 which is a 25% increase and at

the same time the events netted almost $125,000 which is 70% over the previous year. This

was beyond expectations and provided unexpected, and much needed revenue for some

technology and facilities upgrades by the end of the fiscal year! What a great way to enter into

our 90th Anniversary Year!

Principal Search Update

The principal search is underway and know that we are committed to finding an academic

leader with a proven track record who is mission-focused and student-centered. Hopefully we

will have more of an update in our next newsletter.

Congratulations to the Class of 2018!

Principal’s Message Sister Rita Fanning, CSFN

Welcome to Summer!

We have already begun our summer enrichment classes and our summer camps so for some of

you and some of us our school break is over. It is a joy for me to see your daughters walking

our hallways. They bring to life the mission of embracing faith, family and education.

Faculty Update

At the end of the year we said our good-byes and expressed our gratitude to Jackie (Cervino)

Diamond, Art Teacher, and Sister David Sibiski, Attendance Officer.

Over the course of three weeks we have welcomed the following as faculty and staff for the

2018-19 school year:

Daniel Dockery, Social Studies

Natalie Graveley ’05, English

Karen Peyton, English

Anthony Palumbo, Science

Sister Jeanette Lawlor, CSFN, Attendance Officer

Athletics Update

Congratulations to Mary Kate McDade Magagna '05 on being named Nazareth's head

basketball coach. Her record is all-around impressive – academically, player awards for

athletes and leadership and coaching experience at St. Joseph's University! Welcome aboard.

The course is $120 which includes the book that will be used. Class dates are usually on

first fall class will run leading up to the October 6 SAT date and the second will run leading up to

the December 1 SAT date.

Please use the time over the summer to review the Student Handbook for policies. It will be

helpful when returning to school to avoid discipline issues and be aware of all that is asked of

you as a student at Nazareth.
