The campers will receive two 45-minute Eng-lish classes each day, four days per week. Participants are grouped according to their level of English.

There are classes for Beginner, Intermedi-ate, and Advanced English abilities. They will have opportunities to practice their English in a classroom setting through interactive stu-dent/teacher activities. The Introduction to English for basic English level will give camp-ers exposure to English through “DuoLingo”

online practice. All these classes provide each child with the necessary tools to develop a good understanding of the English language and provide a suitable environment to prac-tice spoken English.

ENGLISH LESSONS & IRISH TIE EXAM

ENGLISH CAMPAIGN

The Woodlands Camp is recognised by ACELS, a service of Quality and Qualifications Ireland, for English language teaching (ELT). Throughout the Woodlands Camp, our students are taught to deal with everyday written and spoken English. All students over 11 years old and par ticipating in the four full weeks, are eligible to take the TIE English examination, which is aimed at children in primary and lower secondary education. Throughout the camp, weekly English cam-paigns are carried out where students earn English tokens and use them at the English Campaign shop! The tokens are accumulated through learning new words, writing English book reviews and a general noticeable im-provement in English speaking. Special English awards are given out during camp as well as a prize every two weeks, where five students are taken off campus with our Director to the famous Avoca, where they are congratulated on their English effor ts over Avoca’s famous Irish hot chocolate!

During the camp we work to improve the written and oral skills of our campers. Depending on their level of English, students aim to sit one of the Cambridge English exams* (Cambridge YLE (Starters and Fly-ers), Cambridge KET or Cambridge PET). The exam fee is included in the tuition fees for the Summer Camp. If you are interested and want your son to take these exams, please contact your promoter to confirm his English Level.

ENGLISH CAMP & ENGLISH LESSONS

The afternoons at Kilcroney Castle Camp are spent outside in the grounds of the castle. We offer a range of spor ts clinics giving the op-por tunity for boys to both try new spor ts and also improve those they already play. We also organise themed activities promoting team building and leadership skills. Some examples of our clinics and activities are: soccer, gaelic football, basketball, tag rugby, baseball, bon-fire, survival skills, Viking banquet, go-kar ts, Irish Kermesse.

The Kilcroney Castle Camp is located in Dublin Oak Academy and avails of the many facilities the academy has to offer. Morning English classes take place in the bright and airy classrooms on the upper floor of the castle itself. The modern dormitories are situated in a separate near-by building. Kilcroney Castle is locat-ed on it’s own beautiful grounds which include a cross country running track, areas of woodland, several grass playing fields, a basketball cour t as well as a small area for practicing golf.

O U T I N G S

Outings play an impor tant par t of the Kilcroney Camp provid-ing a mixture of cultural and fun activities. Some examples of our outings are: Irish National Heritage Park, Malahide Castle, Hiking in Glendalough, National Aquatic Centre, Tayto Park, Dublin Zoo, Bray Head and beach, Dundrum Centre.

In addition there is a separate games and activity area which houses pool tables, table tennis tables and two fully equipped gyms. Outdoors in the same area, there are two all-weather tennis cour ts and an all-weather 5 aside football pitch.
