+as no more than a myth that the "overnment made u* to ustify their action to the

*eo*le./ #he scene +as *robably "lorified and e3a""erated in order to ma(e the event

more heroic that it actually +as. #his movie' of course' did not detail any of the coercive

activities that 7enin carried out a"ainst the Assembly. 2t also altered many details' such as

the Bolshevi(s +innin" much more vote than the enshevi(s or anyone else for all that

matters' +hich +as not actually the case. All the *eo*le +ho o**osed the Bolshevi(s

+ere condemned as lac(eys of the bour"eois./ #his made the Bolshevi(s% actions more

ustifiable' as in this movie' they +ere fi"htin" for the *eo*le and freein" them from the

bour"eois. 6eein" ho+ the Red uards dis*ersed a +or(ers% demonstration' it mi"ht not

actually be the case' as the Bolshevi(s +ere o**ressin" the very *eo*le they +anted to

re*resent by doin" that. With *ro*a"anda' the Bolshevi(s% cou* d%etat +as turned into

one of the most "lorious moments in the history of not only Russia' but also of the +orld.

#he October Revolution +as' and has al+ays been' a cou* d%etat' +hich set it

a*art from the other t+o revolutions. #he Bolshevi(s did not ne"otiate +ith the *eo*le or

anyone' but instead used their Red uards to bully others into submission as +ell as

arrestin" their o**onents. 2t +as not necessarily a *eo*le%s revolution' as it +as a sei)ure

of *o+er. 2n the revolution of 1905 and the February Revolution' at least the *eo*le

reached an a"reement +ith the "overnment. 2n the October Revolution' the Bolshevi(s

basically sei)ed all *o+er throu"h destroyin" their o**onents such as the 4rovisional

overnment and the ,onstituent Assembly. ost' if not all of their actions' +ere either

covered u* or "lorified by *ro*a"anda. !evertheless' their revolution +ill al+ays stand

out from the other Russian revolutions. 2t +as a forceful overthro+ of the "overnment' no

matter ho+ hard they try to cover it u* from the +orld.
