Easter Sunday of the Resurrection of the Lord .
My brothers and sisters in Christ, may the joy and peace of the Lord Jesus fill all your hearts on this
beautiful Easter Sunday that commemorates the glorious Resurrection of the Lord Jesus.
For us Christians, Easter Sunday is a day of joy. It is a day of joy because of the new life that we have
received in Christ through the Sacrament of Baptism. It is a day of joy because we have new brothers
and sisters in Christ who have come home by receiving the Sacrament of Baptism. It is a day of joy
because it is the time of the year when many, after having been absent for some time, return to Jesus
through the Sacraments of Confession and the Holy Eucharist. It is a day of joy when in the perfect
unity of the Mystical Body of Christ, all the saints and angels of Heaven rejoice with us because "The Lord has risen indeed." (Lk.
24:34)
On this beautiful Easter Sunday, our joy in Christ is manifested many ways. It is manifested through our presence at the celebration of
the Holy Mass during which time, with all our hearts, we praise our Lord Jesus Christ in thanksgiving. It is manifested in the warmth
of the homes where family members and friends have been invited to a great feast of excellent foods. It is manifested in the laughter of
the little children who will be provided with the opportunity to play games with their parents, is it searching for colored eggs or other
games. For some children, this special relationship with their parents is a rare opportunity because sometimes during the year, we
forget to make ourselves little so we can share in the joy of our little ones.
In the midst of all this outward joy that we are celebrating, let us not forget those whose joy is inward. There are those who are sick in
the hospital, the prisoners who have been forgotten, those who's countries have been torn apart by warfare, the seniors who live in
solitude, all those who share in our joy in their own way. Our Lord is also their Lord. Inwardly, they also share in the joy of knowing
that the Lord has indeed risen.
My brothers and sisters in Christ, the glorious Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, witnessed by hundreds in the early days of the
Church, is our proof that one day we will all be united as one eternal family. This life is temporary. What awaits us is so much better
and greater. Until we reach that day, let us live the joy of Easter with all our brothers and sisters in Christ. Let us make a special effort
to reach out to those who do not share in our joy and especially those who have been forgotten so they may manifest their joy
outwardly as we are doing today. As of today, may you all go forth in the Spirit of Christ and bring the joy of the Lord to all those
who touch your lives!
Domingo De Pascua De Resurrección Del Señor
Mis hermanos y hermanas en Cristo, que la alegría y la paz del Señor Jesús cubra todos sus corazones en este
hermoso domingo de Pascua que conmemora la resurrección gloriosa del Señor Jesús.
Para nosotros los cristianos, el Domingo de Pascua es un día de alegría. Es un día de alegría por la nueva vida que
hemos recibido en Cristo por el sacramento del bautismo. Es un día de alegría porque tenemos nuevos hermanos y
hermanas en Cristo que han venido a casa al recibir el sacramento del bautismo. Es un día de alegría porque es la
época del año en que muchos, después de haber estado ausentes durante algún tiempo, vuelven a Jesús a través de
los sacramentos de la Confesión y de la Eucaristía. Es un día de alegría cuando en la perfecta unidad del Cuerpo místico de Cristo,
todos los santos y ángeles del cielo se regocijan con nosotros porque "El Señor ha resucitado." (. Lc 24:34)
En este hermoso domingo de Pascua, nuestra alegría en Cristo se manifiesta de muchas maneras. Se manifiesta a través de nuestra
presencia en la celebración de la Santa Misa durante la cual, con todo nuestro corazón, alabamos a nuestro Señor Jesucristo en acción
de gracias. Se manifiesta en el calor de los hogares en los que miembros de la familia y amigos han sido invitados a una gran fiesta de
excelentes alimentos. Se manifiesta en la risa de los niños pequeños que se les proporcionará la oportunidad de jugar con sus padres,
como es la búsqueda de huevos de colores u otros juegos. Para algunos niños, esta relación especial con sus padres es una oportunidad
única porque a veces durante el año, nos olvidamos de hacernos o sentirnos pequeños para así poder compartir en la alegría de
nuestros pequeños.
En medio de toda esta alegría exterior que estamos celebrando, no olvidemos aquellos cuya alegría es interna. Hay los que están
enfermos en el hospital, los presos que han sido olvidados, aquellos cuyos países han sido desgarrados por la guerra, las personas
mayores que viven en soledad, y todos aquellos que comparten nuestra alegría en su propia manera. Nuestro Señor es también su
Señor. Interiormente, también comparten la alegría de saber que el Señor ha resucitado.
Mis hermanos y hermanas en Cristo, la gloriosa resurrección de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, en presencia de cientos de personas en los
primeros días de la Iglesia, es nuestra prueba de que un día vamos a estar todos unidos como una sola familia eterna. Esta vida es
temporal. Lo que nos espera es mucho mejor y más grande. Hasta llegar a ese día, vivamos la alegría de la Pascua con todos nuestros
hermanos y hermanas en Cristo. Hagamos un esfuerzo especial para llegar a aquellos que no comparten nuestra alegría y sobre todo
aquellos que han sido olvidados para que puedan manifestar su alegría exteriormente como lo estamos haciendo hoy. A partir de hoy,
que todos ustedes puedan seguir adelante en el Espíritu de Cristo y lleven el gozo del Señor a todos los que tocan sus vidas!
