• Hebrew Understanding • The word used for peace in Hebrew is

shalom. This term has deep meaning and coveys a sense of being free from trouble, experiencing the best of life and spiritual prosperity.

Two Kinds of Peace

• Security in this life Inner calm • No needs are unmet Confidence in Christ • No Conflicts Safety for the soul • No Pain Sense of direction

& purpose • No demands Hope within conflicts • Certain eternal life

Why Does Peace Matter?

• Peace is a universal requirement • Peace gives us rest • Peace rebuilds our strength • Peace brings resolution for stress

Trouble is a Fact of Life

• "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." John 16:33

•   • Trouble cannot always be avoided • Trouble has a way of draining our strength • Trouble is already defeated

Trust is the Antidote of Trouble

• "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. John 14:1

Tranquility is Promised

• Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27

from Christ • Tranquility is a gift from Christ • Tranquility remedies our fears

How to Experience Peace?
