I have been talking and even preaching a good bit about the need for major changes we need to be making here at St. Paul’s if we want to thrive rather than simply survive as we move into the future. I wrote in rather general terms about this topic in a recent Paulinian as well. I believe it is time to begin to seriously make concrete plans for these necessary changes. In order to make it possible for as many interested parties as possible to share their perspectives on these proposed plans I have scheduled an open, “Town-hall” type meeting following worship on June 9. At that time I will present a series of proposed plans that I feel are essential if St. Paul’s is to have a viable future beyond the next few years. It is a grand and, admittedly, relatively expensive vision. It is important that all who love St. Paul’s have their voice heard, as well as an opportunity to hear what is really being proposed. It is not necessary that everyone agree on everything. Grace and peace to you all from the God who creates us in love, redeems us in love, and sustains us on our journey in love. I have been talking and even preaching a good bit about the need for major changes we need to be making here at St. Paul’s if we want to thrive rather than simply survive as we move into the future. I wrote in rather general terms about this topic in a recent Paulinian as well. I believe it is time to begin to seriously make concrete plans for these necessary changes. struggling and slowly dying. No matter what we plan to do, some are not going to approve. But, at the very least, we should do our best to make certain that everyone is informed and that nothing is done “on the sly.” It is my desire to make this an extremely open process. So, if you possibly can, please plan to come to the Town Hall meeting after church on June 9. Listen prayerfully and share honestly as the Spirit leads. If you cannot attend on June 9, why not take some time to write down your thoughts and send them to the church office? The real question is not “will there be change?” Change IS coming, whether some of us want it or not. The real question is “will our changes be faithful?” The status quo is not sustainable. God is not finished with St. Paul’s UMC yet. God’s future calls us forward. With trust in God and not our own strength, let us lean into that future with confidence. Grace and peace,

Pastor Joe

I Peter 5:6-11

Humble yourselves therefore

under the mighty hand of

God, that he may exalt you

in due time: Casting all your

care upon him; for he careth

for you. Be sober, be

vigilant; because your

adversary the devil, as a

roaring lion, walketh about,

seeking whom he may

devour: Whom resist stedfast

in the faith, knowing that the

same afflictions are

accomplished in your

brethren that are in the

world. But the God of all

grace, who hath called us

unto his eternal glory by

Christ Jesus, after that ye

have suffered a while, make

you perfect, stablish,

strengthen, settle you. To

him be glory and dominion

for ever and ever. Amen.

Food Pantry

Those helped through our Food Pantry have increased

just within the past few months.

In spite of the recent passing of our faithful Donna Albert

more people have come into the church in need

of food for their families.

We have about 11 new families, 3 of them with children,

and we’ve helped a total of 40 families in recent months.

Our growth can be attributed to the grace of our Lord

as well as the dedication and service

of our beloved Donna Albert.

Faithful supporters can

donate food as well as cash.

We try to supply meat to many,

including Chicken, Beef, Sausages, and Hot Dogs.

Esther Paugh sends her thanks and appreciation to “all my St. Paul’s

family & friends who prayed, called, emailed, sent cards and visited

during my recent hospitalization and rehab @ Eger.

Joyce Slaight sends regards to “all my St. Paul’s friends.”

Ernie Frerichs says “Hello to All”.

“As you did it to one of the least of these,

so also you did it unto me.”
