Pallas, although a little nervous, started well, maintained her composure swimming her own race and then pulled ahead at the end to come 1st in 50m Freestyle in a time of 39.71 seconds. Later in the day she swam a solid race in Butterfly placing 3rd with a time of 53.16 seconds. Both swims being personal bests for her. This now gives Pallas the opportunity to compete in the State Championships in Melbourne at MSAC in the Girls Under 10 Freestyle. Well Done, Pallas! School Council We would like to congratulate Andrew Holman as our new School Council President, Michael Ken- dall continuing as Vice President and taking on Policies, Kylie Perrin-Walton continuing as Secre- tary, Shelley Churchill continuing as Treasurer, new to the council we have Natalie Cole taking on Fundraising, Jane Adams taking on Building & Grounds, Deb Watson taking on Grants. We say goodbye and would like to extend a huge thank you to Royce Nieuwerth, Tim Richards & Kylie Wilson for their time and effort spent over the last couple of years working tirelessly on many pro- jects across our school. Royce has made a big impact over the past few years as President and we would like to thank him for all the additional work he has been apart of in this role. Gr 6 Student Leadership Announcements We will be announcing our student leadership at next weeks school assembly (26/3) at 3pm. This will include School Captains, SRC, House Captains and Art Captain. Free Dress Day Next Friday, 26th March, we will be holding a Free Dress Day to raise money for the Good Friday Appeal. Students can EITHER bring an item to contribute to the Easter Raffle OR a gold coin dona- tion for the Good Friday Appeal. A reminder that closed shoes should be worn for safety reasons and hats will still be needed during outside play times. Help Needed We have a shade sail over the large playground that needs to be removed for us to send to be fixed. If you have the time (and the ladders to get to the heights needed to remove the damaged shade sail, we really need your help. As the shade sail is currently hanging over the playground, this is restricting the use of this area. If you can help over the weekend, we would love to hear from you. Please get in touch with the office on (03) 5659 2356. PCS Athletics Day is Coming Up! We are excited to announce that our annual Athletics Sports Carnival will be happening on 31/3 (the last week of the term). Parents are encouraged to come along and cheer the kids along. Bring a chair, a picnic rug and enjoy the fun of the day. Unfortunately we have not been able to secure a coffee van this year, so bring a packed lunch and a thermos. Cant wait to see you there– pop it in your family calendar. Students wear their house colours on the day. Working Bee Next Friday afternoon (26/3) prior to assembly, we will be having a working bee at school. Come along and help from 2pm. Jobs to be completed include re-attaching fence palings along Gardner Lane (3-4 have come off)- this job will need some cordless drills. We will also be weeding garden beds and trimming back bushes, so gardening tools will be helpful. We also need to fix the roost- ing box on the chicken coop (need hammer and nails). Trimming of branches also needs to be done (some small chainsaws would be helpful). If you can help for an hour, that would be amaz- ing. Have a great weekend, Cate. Happy Birthday to the following students who celebrated birthdays over the last fortnight!
