Collecting intelligence through human sources and by other appropriate means, except that he shall have no police, subpoena, or law enforcement powers or internal security functions;

Correlating and evaluating intelligence related to the national security and providing appropriate dissemination of such intelligence;

To become a CIA Agent they have to have a bachelor or master's degree in instructional design, instructional technology, education or a related field. Experienced candidates should have a minimum of two years work experience in adult education in the classroom, online, and in blended environments and, thus, practical knowledge in teaching adults. They recognize how technology enables learning and are dedicated to keeping up with innovations, research, theories, technologies, and trends in the education field. Experience in rapid prototyping, iterative design, or in other practices that streamline development processes is desired.

They at least need a bachelor’s degree are preferred for clandestine service positions. CIA agents are expected to have sharp analytical and decision making skills. These professionals must also have a sound understanding of different foreign cultures and international policies. Having fluency in foreign languages is definitely a plus point for eligibility.
