The school of Ancient Wisdom is dedicated to preserving and realizing the ageless wisdom, which embodies both a world-view and a vision of human self-transformation.

The Universe and all that exists within it are one interrelated and interdependent whole.

Every existent being—from atom to galaxy-is rooted in the same universal, life creating Reality. This Reality is all pervasive, but it can never be summed up in its parts, since it transcends all its expressions. It reveals itself in the purposeful, ordered, and meaningful processes of nature, as well as in the deepest recesses of the mind and spirit.

Recognition of the unique value of every living being, expresses itself in reverence for life, compassion for all, sympathy with the need of all individuals to find truth for themselves, and respect for all religious traditions. The ways in which these ideals become realities in individual life are both the privileged choice and the responsible act of every human being.

Central to our concerns is the desire to promote understanding and brotherhood among people of all races, nationalities, philosophies and religions. Therefore, all people, whatever their race, creed or colour are invited to participate equally in the life and work of the School.

Advaita-pancha-ratnam is a short text on Vedanta attributed to Shankaracharya. The text sums up the teaching of Vedanta in just five slokas.

Vedanta is a time-tested means for freedom from sorrow and to find the

inner source of perennial happiness. Knowledge of the true nature of the

Self is the only means for freedom from fundamental problems of life. The

Vision of Vedanta clears the mind of all conflicts and restlessness.

Swami Shivaprakashananda, a traditional Sannyasi and teacher of Vedanta, will unfold the text in the three-day retreat. The days will begin with Vedantic Meditation. It will be followed by three sessions of talks per day. The Vision of Vedanta clears the mind of all conflicts and restlessness.The text analyses the true nature of the self and propounds the conclusion of the Upanishads that the essential nature of an individual is the limitless and pure consciousness which transcends all problems of empirical existence.The body, mind and senses are anatma, non-self, which are mistaken to be the self. This is the cause of all pychological problem. Hence the first step to the solution lies in distinguishing them from one’s true self. This is explained in the first stanza. The vision of Vedanta is explained with three profound and lucid examples in the next three slokas. The text concludes by revealing the purnatva – completeness of an individual.

Swami Shivaprakashananda Saraswati is a traditional sannyasi and a teacher of Vedanta. The Swami has been teaching Vedanta in different parts of Bengaluru for last five years.The Swami was introduced to the study of Sanskrit during his school days. He showed great inclination towards spirituality even as a child. He left home at the age of twenty-two and served the Ramakrishna Mission from 2003 to 2009, where he received spiritual training as a brahmachari.

He studied Vedanta and systems of Indian Philosophy from Srimat Swami Tattvamayananda Puri and other sadhus.From 2009 to 2012, he studied Vedanta from Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati and Swamini Brahmaprakashanandaji at Arsha Vijnana Gurukulam, Nagpur. Then he moved to Rishikesh to undertake rigorous sadhana and study of scriptures. Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati initiated him into Sannyasa on the Mahashivaratri day of the year 2013.Since July 2013, the Swami has been teaching Vedanta in Bengaluru. The Swami leads a quiet and contemplative life at Sanjaynagar. He conducts regular weekly talks at Sanjaynagar, Malleswaram, Museum Road, Jakkur and Sadashivnagar. Spiritual aspirants from all walks of life derive benefit from his talks and seek his guidance in spiritual pursuit
