The Season of Advent December 14, 2014 8:00 AM
The season of Advent is a time of reflection on the gift that comes at Christmas and an anticipation of the second coming of Christ.
Today the color on the altar and on the banners is blue. Advent, a preparatory time of waiting and watching, communicates the message of hope. Our Christian faith rests on the hope that Christ, who came in history assuming our flesh, will also return on the last
day of time from that same blue sky he ascended into long ago. Blue, the color of the sky, helps convey that powerful message.
PASTORAL WELCOME

Making More Room Update
The new building is progressing nicely! The exterior walls are up, the numerous
utility “rough-ins” have begun, and many of the final building utility services are
scheduled to be connected in February-March timeframe. The membrane
roofing, HVAC curb supports and exterior wall finishes are currently being
installed. The Building Committee has also been working with the design team
to meet the challenge of selecting durable and compatible floor and wall
coverings and finishes that will require the least amount of maintenance and be
aesthetically pleasing.
On December 14th there will be another opportunity to inscribe the interior walls
and studs of the new 4500 square foot multi-purpose room. After each service,
KOG members who are interested in participating will be guided into the new
building and be able to write their favorite Bible passages on these walls. Elders
and Building Committee members are facilitating this activity and will be
providing Sharpie pens and Bibles.
To date the total pledges for the campaign stand at $2,951,000. King of Glory
members have met 58% of the pledges by paying $1,717,000 of the total! All
construction, bridge and permanent financing are in place through the Lutheran
Church Extension Fund.
We celebrate our continued progress, and we’re Making More Room.
And we thank Him for His many blessings.
