Th e Centralia Orphans of Coach Lee Bennett are on their way to a high seed in the Seventy-Th ird Centralia Holiday Tournament as they are off to a 8 – 0 start and have already won their third straight Th anksgiving Tournament title. Th e Orphans will be looking to do the same in the Centralia Holiday Tournament this year.
Coach Bennett's Orphans are being led by four year varsity player D'Aaron Owens who has already won the MVP of the Centralia Th anksgiving Tournament. Th e Orphans also have returning starters 6'0" Tyriq Billberry, 6'4" Deven Toennies and 6'3" Dawson Berry to give Coach Bennett plenty of experience on the court. Th en there are 5'11" Lundyn Waithe and
6'4" Jared Glenn who are also seniors this season. Coach Bennett has a nice group of sophomores in 6'1" Javon Williams, 6'1" Johnathan Keeler and 6'0" Jordan Maines who will see plenty of fl oor time this year.
Th e Orphans would really like to add the Holiday Tournament trophy to the case in front of the CHS Gym for the third year in a row and give Coach Bennett his fourth Centralia Holiday Tournament title overall. Th e Orphans of Coach Bennett are primed to make a run this season through the Holiday Tournament and on into the South Seven and maybe a return to Peoria.

Th e Trail Blazers of Addison in Chicago under Coach Eric Norberg will head south again this season to play in the Seventy-Th ird Centralia Holiday Tournament. Th ey will enter the event on a very good start to the 2015 – 16 season as they stand at 5 – 2 with a few games to play before the tournament starts.
Coach Norberg has a very good returning crew of decent overall size with 6'6"
Colton Noel, 6'6" Eric Grygo, 6'4" Michael Williams and 6'5" Zachary Novak that will allow the Blazers to get on the boards and try to control the game's tempo. Coach Norberg also has 6'3" Ryan Zygowicz, 6'0" Jack Kalbas, 5'10" Nick Conrad and 6'2" Michal
Tkaczyk who will allow the Blazers to keep up the pressure at all times for a full thirty-two minutes of each game. Coach also has a group of juniors who will need to step up, including 6'3" Stefan Jones, Eric Lynch and 5'11' Bobby Daniels as well as 6'4" senior
Jonathon Gonzelez. All this will come
together to give the Blazers a chance at a tourney run this season at the Seventy-Th ird Centralia Holiday Tournament. Coach Norberg has his Blazers looking to compete this year in the West
Suburban Gold Conference, a 4A Conference in West Chicago. Th e trail heads south for the Blazers.

Th e Redbirds of Coach Eric Smith are off and running again this season and look to be a force once again in the Seventy-Th ird Centralia Holiday Tournament where they always seem to be knocking at the door of the title. Coach Smith has his team out to a 4 – 1 start and they already have a couple of big wins in the always strong Southwestern Conference.
Th e Redbirds have a solid big man in 6'7" Evan Meyer but aft er that they are on the small size. However,
they have a very fast squad with a whole bunch of speed in a lot of places, which will allow Coach Smith to keep full court pressure on all the time. With players like 6'0" Kenny Burnett, 6'1" Morris
Adams, 5'10" Jordan Golley, 6'1" Paul Harris, 6'1" Marcus Latham and 6'1" Tre Smith you can see the theme of Coach Smith's team, and he still has 6'0" Tyler Springman, 6'0" Jonathan Bumpers, 6'0"
Kevin Caldwell, 6'0" Maurice Edwards, 6'0" Damion Reid and 6'2" Dereaun Clay.
Th e Redbirds can't wait to hit the fl oor at the Seventy-Th ird Centralia Holiday Tournament and show all the fans at the tourney what real speed looks like on a basket-ball court. Coach Smith's Redbirds still have a few games left so he can continue to fi ne tune the team before arriving in Centralia on December 29.

ARLINGTON (TN) TIGERSTh e Tigers, who are
coached again this season by Coach Don Deaton, are heading north to their second Centralia Holiday Tournament. Coach Deaton's squad is off to a very solid start at 8 – 2 and can't wait to play in front of the large CHT crowds which will give them some much needed experience.
Th is year the Tigers have a very solid line-up with 6'6" Garret Golday, 6'5" Seth Marshall, 6'5' Caleb
McBride, 6'4" Nate Hoover and a pair of 6'3" players in Brogan Brewer and Ray Price. As you can see, Coach Deaton's team is very solid up front and will be a load on the boards. Th ere is also a good group of guards in
players like 5'10" Boston Miller, 5'8" Carrington Maclin, 5'8" Demonte Person and 5'11" freshman Sam Wiseman.
Th e Tigers will open the CHT in a mid morning aff air on day one, and Coach Deaton
will also use 6'1" Luke Wiseman, 6'0" Edward Douglas and 5'10" Tate Kolwyck to help with their high pressure defense and keep fresh legs on the court.
Th e Tigers play in one of the country's hottest basketball areas, the Memphis suburbs, which compares to Southern Illinois where basketball is still king.

Th e Maroons are off to a very slow start under Coach Joe Muniz with a 1 – 6 record but still have time to right the ship before the Seventy-Th ird Centralia Holiday Tournament starts. Th e Maroons will play a solid club from Kentucky, the Christian County Colonels, in game fi ve on opening day.
Coach Muniz has some big glass cleaners in 6'7" Tyler Dancy and 6'7" Ben Pippins, along with 6'6" E.J. Liddell and 6'4" Dalton
Fox.With just this core the Maroons would appear to be stronger than what they have shown so far. Coach Muniz will use these players to help right the ship: 6'3" Andy Behrmann, 6'2" Logan Betz, 5'11" Chris
Cruse, 5'10" Tommy Evans, 5'11' DeAndre Jackson, 6'0' Elijah Powell, 5'11" Jordan Parks, 5'11" Jack Lanxon and 6'0' Tyreke Jones. Coach Muniz has the players to match up with their Southwestern
Conference foes and their challengers in the Centralia Holiday Tournament. Th e Maroons, as always, will be ready for the tournament, and for the 12th year Coach Muniz will be at the helm. Th e Mighty Maroons are still one of the tournament favorites and they are the third winningest team in CHT history with over 100 wins; they would love to add to that number.

Coach Darian Nash is hoping his Comanches can come around before the Seventy-Th ird Centralia Holiday Tournament starts as they are off to a very slow start at 2 – 6 and have just a few games left in the pre-tourna-ment schedule.
Once again, like in the recent past, the Comanches have a tall team with 6' 6" Th omas Bell, 6'6" Jamar Taylor, 6'5" Malik Johnson, 6'5" Keson Tidwell and a pair of 6'3" players in
Derrick Aaron and Chris McRoberts. Coach Nash's team is long and can force other teams into doing things they don't normally do. With all the size, there is also a lot of speed with 6'1" Marvin Crumble; 6'0" Jackorey Davis; 6'0"
Damond Harrison; 5'10" Eugene Gully, Jr.; 6'2" Deavis Johnson and 6'1" Michael Baxton. Th en throw in 6'2" freshman Elijah Rice and you can see Coach Nash has another team that's a great combina-tion of size, strength and speed.
Th e Comanches seem to gel every
year at the
CHT and this doesn't look to be any diff erent. Th ey will open tourney play against a very good Arlington, Tennessee team in the second game of the Seventy-Th ird Centralia Holiday Tournament. Th e Comanches hope their full court pressure will be enough to throw those Tigers off their game plan.

2015 Centralia HolidayTournament. Go Orphans!
• •
Th e Maroons are once again in the Centralia Holiday Tournament for the seventieth time out of seventy-three events. Th e only team who has played more is the host team, the Orphans. Th is year's Maroons are under the helm of new Coach Jeff Finke, so for the third time in the last three seasons, the Maroons players will be learning a new system.
Coach Finke has a pair of big men in 6'7" Nick Finke and 6'6" sophomore Tim
Finke to go along with returning players like 5'11" Brad Dee, 6'3" Sam Lessaris, 5'6" Anthony Giboney and 5'3" Calogeno Dawson. Th ese guys will help Coach Finke through the learning process. Th e Maroons are off to a
4 – 6 start and are looking forward to the Centralia Holiday Tournament.
Coach Finke has a large group of under-classmen in 5'10" Bailey Dee, 6'0" Kamron Reaves, 6'3" Cade Sestak, 6'2" Sam Rossow
and 6'3" Matthew Sharick. Th is will build the Maroons toward the future and give Coach Finke plenty of options to use along with 6'3" Jake Beesley and 5'11" Walker Stillman.
Coach Finke's squad will make some hay this
year in the Big Twelve Conference and throughout Central Illinois, but for now Coach Finke is just happy to get to the Seventy-Th ird Centralia Holiday Tournament.Team pro le by Mike Ellis

The Colonels of Christian County are heading north to play in the 73rd Centralia Holiday Tournament and Coach Frankie Smith's team will hope to carry some hardware back to Hopkinsville, Kentucky this year. Th e Colonels are off to a good start at 6 – 0 and hope to improve on that record before arriving in Centralia where they'll play the B e l l e v i l l e We s t Maroons on day one at 3:30 p.m. in game 5.
Coach Smith has a good size team with
6'6" Jaylen Seebree, 6'4" Deterrion Ware, 6'4" Cory Trice and 6'2" Roland Butler. This lineup will allow Coach Smith's team to bang on the boards with anybody in the tournament. Coach Smith's quickness
lies in these speedsters 5'9" Tyrik Edwards, 6'1" Darrius Radford, 5'9" Cin'k Hampton, 5'9" Tiavey Mason and 5'4" Deontrez Turner to go along with 6'1" Javhyon Poindexter, 5'9" Brion Killebrew and 6'0" soph-
omore Jaquon Long. Coach Smith will no doubt use his entire roster to get through the four days of basketball in the tourney. Th e Colonels are in the Centralia Holiday Tournament for the second time and
really hope to improve on their fi rst showing of a 2-2 record. Christian County is another one of those hot beds of high school basketball in the state of Kentucky.

Th e Germantown Red Devils, coached by Marvis Davis, will head north to Centralia for the Seventy-Third C entra l ia Hol iday Tournament and will do so with a pretty good record at 8 – 1. Th e red a n d w h i t e Devi ls have been steaming t h e i r w a y through every-one that's been in front of them so far.
Coach Davis has a pair of
book ends in 6'6" 230 lb. Marcus Mitchell and 6'7" 215 lb. Demarcus Mitchell. And that is just the start of these board banging devils with players like 6'5"Rodney Williams, 6'3" Jacob Ivey, 6'1" Michael Bamrick,
6'0"Jonathan Bins, 6'2" Charles Grayer and 6'3" Christion Willet. Add in 5'10' Darrell Brown and you can see Coach Davis has a complete squad with both size and speed.
Once again, like the Tigers, the Red Devils
are from the rich basket-ball area of Memphis, a college coach's dream. The Red Devils are fourth in the state rank-ings. Coach Davis's squad is back in the C entra l ia Hol iday Tournament once again
and would love to take home a trophy and be one of only a few out-of-state teams to ever do just that.

Th e Crimsons are back in the Centralia Holiday Tournament for the nineteenth time and are heading south with a 4 – 2 start under second year coach Sean Taylor who is building towards something big this season. Coach Taylor has a nice sized club with a pair of 6'7" bookends in Brandon McCombs and Tyler Rose — a nice way to start
things off ! Add in 6'3" Brady Hays, 6'3" Riley Dugan, 6'2" Will Peak and 6'2" Garret Scaman and it's plain to see that the Crimsons have size on their side this year. Coach Taylor will rely on guards 6'0" Clayton
Sexton, 6'1" Quinn Rose, 5'9" Ryan Kaufmann and 6'1"Charles Jackson that will allow him to keep fresh legs on the court at all times. Th e Orphans fans really look forward to watch-
ing the Crimsons play tough defense. Th e Crimsons under Coach Taylor will start off this Holiday Tournament facing the Mt. Vernon Rams, who are back once again under Coach Doug Creel. Th at
will be a real test for the Crimsons to see how far they'll go in this year's tourna-ment.Team pro le by Mike Ellis

Join a radiant community where people are loved , inspired and thriving.
Th e RedHawks of Coach Gene Nolan are off and running again this season with a 4 – 1 record so far and should improve on that with several games in their own RedHawks Classic before the Seventy-Th ird Centralia Holiday Tournament begins. Coach Nolan will have his Hawks tournament ready when they arrive in Centralia.
Th is year's Hawks will be led by 5'11" Maurice Commander and 5'7" Andre Hardin, who are the only two varsity players back from last season. Coach Nolan
has more size this season than in the last couple of years with a pair of 6'3"s in Chamar Hawkins and David Daniels to go along with 6'4" Bobby Hawkinson. Th en throw in 6'8" Justin Brown and you know the Hawks have enough
size to compete on the boards this time around.
Coach Nolan will also have 6'1" Kevin Lerma, 6'2" Morgan Taylor, 5'11" Chase Robinson, 6'0" Malik Onyeali and 6'1" Jason Hodges, which will allow Coach Nolan to keep pressure on their foes at all times.
Th e Red Hawks would like nothing better than to take the Seventy-Th ird Centralia Holiday Tournament trophy back north with them. Th e Red Hawks will open against O'Fallon on opening night. Th e Hawks play in the always tough East
Suburban Catholic Conference. Coach Nolan is the senior coach of the Centralia Holiday Tournament, starting his sixteenth year at the event, and his Red Hawks are always a fan favorite here.Team pro le by Mike Ellis

MT. VERNON RAMSTh e Mt. Vernon
Rams are back at the Seventy-Th ird Centralia Holiday Tournament for the fi rst time aft er a couple of years away. Also new for Mt. Vernon is that long time Coach Doug Creel is also back at the helm of the Rams for a second go round. Coach Creel has his Rams off to a 4 – 2 record so far with a couple of games left before they head into the Centralia Holiday Tournament.
Th is year's Rams are once again being led by
5'7" Braden Fitzjerrells who this year will move into Mt. Vernon's top three scorers of all time and right now is averaging around 27 points per game. Coach Creel has a good size team in 6'8" RoiYell Nesbitt, 6'6" Malcom Ruff , 6'5" Jake Jines, 6'3"Walker
Brockhouse and 6'3" Karson Bumpus, which allows Coach Creel's Rams to board with the best of them. Th e guard play will also be handled by 5'10' Blake Jones, 6'2" Quinton Kujawa, 6'1" Dylan Uhls, 5'11" Brytan Bowers and 6'0" Chaquielle Evans
which will let the Rams keep the pressure on their foes. Th e Rams will open the Seventy-Th ird Centralia Holiday Tournament against the Jacksonville Crimsons in game 4 on opening day. Th is will be the Rams' thirty-ninth time playing in the CHT and Coach Creel would love to win the trophy their fi rst time back and showcase their star player in Braden Fitzjerrells.

Rick Gibson has a very young team this season and so far has really struggled to put together any type of confi dence on the young season. Th e O'Fallon Panthers are off to a very slow start so far this season and currently stand at 1 – 6.
Coach Gibson has only four players back from last season in 6'3" Chance Armstrong, 6'2" Patrick Berry, 5'10" Chris Eichholz and 5'11" Alex Orr. Th e
rest of the Panthers' roster consists of three sophomores, 6'1' Ronald Anthony, 5'9"Tabari Dunlap and 6'0" Burke Watts, plus another group of juniors, 5'10' Ryan Fulton, 6'0" Martin Enriquez, 6'0"Jalen
Hodge, 6'3" Jarvus Smith, 5'9" Dieon Norfl eet and 6'2" Steven Sharp. All the while this very young team is having to learn under fi re. Th e Southwest Conference is a tough place to learn those diffi cult
lessons it takes to win. Coach Gibson will
bring his Panthers to Centralia once again to play in the Seventy-Th ird Centralia Holiday Tournament and will face Chicago Marist in their fi rst round game on opening night. Coach Gibson will try to get his Panthers ready for the Centralia Holiday Tournament, but he knows a third title will be hard to come by in 2015.

The Raleigh Egypt Pharaohs come north this year to make their fourth app earance in the C e nt r a l i a Ho l i d ay To u r n a m e n t . T h e Pharaohs wil l have another new coach this season in Maurice Miller, their third coach in the last three seasons, and they are off to a very slow start at 1 – 6 on the season. Th e Pharaohs will try to right the ship before arriving in Centralia to face the Alton Redbirds in game one of the CHT.
The Pharaohs come from basketball rich
Memphis and have been a powerhouse in the past. Th ey are looking to return to that tradition and hoping that the Centralia Holiday Tournament may be the springboard that Coach Miller has been looking for.
The Pharaohs are already battle tested and will use that tough Memphis basketball tra-dition to get started at the Seventy-Th ird Centralia Holiday Tournament.

Th e Salem Wildcats will enter the Seventy-Th ird Centralia Holiday Tournament with a new head coach in Andy Fehrenbacher who had been at Teutopolis for several very successful seasons and now will lead the Wildcats into their fi ft y-sixth appear-ance in the CHT. Coach Fehrenbacker has his Cats off to a very slow start at 1 – 6 with only a few games remaining before the tourney to try and get his Cats headed in the right direction.
Th e Cats will be led by 6'3" Brenden Boles, 6'4" Cole Steward, big 6'7" Tristan Hanks — and his
295 pounds will defi -nitely clog up the paint — and 6'0" Chris Watkins. Coach Fehrenbacker will also have 5'7" Eric Schoonover, 6'4" Connor Brooks, 6'0" Hayden Wimberly, 6'4" Damond Crosby, 5'10" Dawson Under and 6'2" Kaden Waver, which
gives the Cats a very young team learning a new system. Hopefully these Cats will get it and turn the corner very soon and get a few wins before their own January tourney.
Th e Cats will also bolster their ranks with 6'2" Victor Milner, 6'1" Adam Bunnell, 6'1
Shaun Reid, and 6'0" Max Phillips, which gives Coach Fehrenbacher a solid squad to hopefully make a splash in the Apollo Conference before this season is over. Th e Cats will set their sights on the 3A play-off s and maybe pull off a big upset.
Th e Cats open the Centralia Holiday Tournament with a game against a very solid team from Memphis in the Germantown Red Devils who are currently 8 – 1. Let the games begin!
