YOUR JUDGES FOR THE SHOW

Dogs: Paul Martin (Loyalstaff)I got my first Stafford in the early seventies when I was still in school and began showing nearly 10 years later. Some of the dogs that I have owned and bred include: Ch/Ir Ch Szindhu Ulster Maddy, Australian Grand Ch The Ulster Immigrant, Loyalstaff Sweet William 2 RCC, Loyalstaff Hear The Cry, 2 RCC. Also many other RCC winners and Championship Show winners.

I have awarded CCs on 4 occasions, awarded Green Stars in Ireland and judged at Championship level in Australia, the USA, South Africa, the Czech Republic and Holland.

This appointment is without doubt the pinnacle of my life in dogs, never as a young boy did I ever expect to be receiving such an honour. After this, I have just one more appointment in the UK. I will not be judging again on these shores and will finish judging altogether in 2020. It is a privilege to have been asked to give my opinion on your dogs.

Bitches: Lee Rhodes (Teracota)I was born and reared in a household where a Staffordshire Bull Terrier was considered part of the family, being fortunate that my father had been an enthusiast of the breed for many years. I have never lived in a house without a Stafford.

I became an active Member of the SBTC in 1978 and was Vice Chairman for quite a few years. I have bred several litters which have included a number of show winners at all levels of competition. The most successful are Rustic Charm of Teracota, Teracota Oddjob, Teracota Phils Pet, Teracota The Heathen (Best Puppy Terrier Group Darlington Championship Show 2001) and more recently Teracota Hells Angel.

I am currently showing Taraiel Reaper of Teracota. Progeny of my breeding can be found in Australia, Africa, Canada and several European Countries and the USA where Teracota Red Jack is an American Champion.

In 1988 I obtained the Canine Studies Institute Judging Diploma and began judging the same year. I awarded CCs for the first time in 2001. This will be my 6th Breed Club Championship Show.

Anyone whose dog is entered at a Kennel Club licensed event should take all reasonable steps to ensure the needs of their dog(s) are met, and should not put a dog’s health and welfare at risk by any action, default, omission or otherwise. Breach of Kennel Club Regulations in this respect may be referred to the Board for disciplinary action under Kennel Club Rules and Regulations. Your dog is vulnerable and at risk during hot weather and the Kennel Club offers the following guidance to help guide you through the do’s and don’ts travelling to and whilst at KC licensed events.• When travelling to a show please take a moment to consider whether the route to the show is on a

busy holiday route, and leave earlier to avoid increased time in traffic jams.• If your vehicle is not air-conditioned seriously consider whether travelling to the show is a good idea

at all.• The vehicle should be as fully ventilated as possible, and plenty of stops should be taken, with lots of

water available to drink.• Ensure your dog is not sitting in full sunlight. There should be plenty of free flowing air around the dog.• When at the show, never leave your dog in the vehicle.• Keep the dog in the shade - take your own shade for example a large umbrella and always have plenty

of water available to drink so your dog stays well hydrated.• Avoid your dog taking part in unnecessary exertion, or from standing in exposed sunlight for extended

lengths of time.
