1.Developed undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral curriculum (PhD and DNP). Served as an
original member of the Doctoral Committee which developed the doctoral nursing program
curriculum for the UTHSC-School of Nursing.

5. Lead and developed the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center's Evidence-Based
Practice Program for nursing in 2005. This is a unique hospital-wide program for all levels of
nurses. Nurses are educated in evidence-based practice principles and conduct unit based
projects for practice improvement. This program has led to multiple changes in practice policy
and procedures. Changes have been reported by staff at national meetings. Several groups
have articles published. Within this program additional resources for nursing development have
been added such as, doctoral student support, abstracts development, publication, research
strategy development and research grant support.
6. Content Leader - Oncology Nursing Society Research Agenda, 2009-2013.
7. Chairperson – Oncology Nursing Society Research Survey Team- 2013. I was the Chair of the
survey team which is a national effort to obtain consensus among oncology nurse researchers for
the research priorities for the 2013-2015 ONS Research Agenda. I led the development of the
survey instrument, conduct of the survey, analysis of the data. I was responsible for organizing
the overall work of the team and reporting the results to the membership the ONS national
research conference and for writing the publication. The full report was provided to the Research
Agenda team for priority development and integration into the ONS Research Agenda. This

document was also shared with the ONS Foundation and other funding organizations. I will also
be a member of that subsequent Research Agenda team.
8. Chairperson American Nurses Association Foundation Grants Program- Chairperson 2012-
2013. Responsible for organizing and carrying out grant reviews for over 80 submissions.
Continue with ANF as a member of Nursing Research Grant Review committee
