Important Dates

Greetings,

I am very happy to welcome the month of July, as Independence Day is one of my favorite holidays! Cook outs, fireworks and spending time on the water with family and friends signify to me that summer is finally here! Now that the weather is cooperating, I invite all of you to enjoy our outside patio and pergola located behind the dining room in the courtyard. These are great spaces to catch up with friends, read a book or enjoy a cold beverage.

We have another dynamic activity calendar this month and I encour-age you all to take advantage. As a reminder, The Village at Rosy Mound also offers housekeeping, handyman services and salon services. Please sign up in the office to schedule one of these amenities.

You may have recently noticed some new staff in the building. I’m very pleased to introduce Jennifer Jobin, our new Administrative Assistant and Mark Curtis, our new Maintenance Supervisor. Jennifer and Mark began their positions at the end of June.

Please join me in welcoming them to our community!

Cheers to Summer!

To all Village at Rosy Mound Residents,

In our continuing effort to improve the quality and efficiency of our

dining program some changes will occur starting Monday, July 15th.

Instead of table side ordering at dinner with a server, we will now be

requiring dinner orders to be placed ahead of time with the office no

later than 10am the morning of the evening meal. Dinner Specials and

Always Available items will remain. The only change you will experi-

ence with this change will be ordering your meal in advance.

Detailed notices will be delivered to all residents prior to the 15th of

July. Please note that standard dining services will remain as usual

until July 15th.

I welcome any feedback you have regarding your dining experience

and any meal suggestions you may have.

Thank You,

Heather

July Movies

Shown Tuesday and Thursday at 3:00 In the Theater on the 3rd Floor

7/2 Trouble with the Curve (PG-13)

Slowed by age and failing eyesight, crack baseball scout Gus Lobel takes his grown daughter along as he checks out

the final prospect of his career. Along the way, the two renew their bond, and she catches the eye of a young player-

turned-scout.

7/9 On the Basis of Sex (PG13)

Inspired by the powerful true story of a young Ruth Bader Ginsburg, On the Basis of Sex depicts a then-struggling attor-

ney and new mother facing adversity in her fight for equal rights. When Ruth takes on a ground-breaking case, she

knows the outcome could alter the courts' view of gender discrimination. Stronger together, Ruth teams up with her

husband, Martin Ginsburg, to fight the case that catapults her into one of the most important public figures of our time.

7/11 Old Man and The Gun (PG-13)

Based on the true-life exploits of bank robber Forrest Tucker, this serio-comic tale recounts his daring escape from pris-

on at age 70 and the long string of heists that preceded the bandit's final arrest at age 78.

7/16 Upside (PG-13)

A recently paroled ex-convict, Dell, strikes up an unusual and unlikely friendship with a quadriplegic billionaire, Philip

Lacasse. From worlds apart, Dell and Philip form an unlikely bond, bridging their differences and gaining invaluable wis-

dom in the process, giving each man a renewed sense of passion for all of life's possibilities.

7/18 Oceans 11 (PG-13)

Less than 24 hours into his parole, charismatic thief Danny Ocean is already rolling out his next plan: In one night,

Danny's hand-picked crew of specialists will attempt to steal more than $150 million from three Las Vegas casinos.

7/23 Oceans 8 (PG-13)

The tide has turned and it's a whole new "Ocean's." Danny Ocean's sister, Debbie Ocean, recruits a seven women crew

to plan and execute the heist of the century at New York City's star-studded annual Met Gala.

7/25 Last Man on the Moon (NR)

In this artful blend of memoir and documentary, former Apollo astronaut Gene Cernan looks back to the glory days of

NASA's lunar landings and his unique distinction of being the last man to stand on the moon.

7/30 I’ll See you In My Dreams (PG-13)

With her well-ordered life thrown out of balance by the death of her beloved canine companion, aging widow Carol

Petersen -- who hasn't dated in 20 years -- unexpectedly finds herself involved with two very different men.
