PETS: Bento is our pet dog and my “son”.Roy developed Rheumatoid Arthritis one year after we were married. He has had it for over 30 years. I saw a documentary that HMSA use to have on Sunday afternoons, back then, on Rheumatoid Arthritis. It is very painful and crippling and only gets pro-gressively worse with age. Rheumatoid Arthritis patients have the highest rate of suicides…unable to take the pain tolerance. The program showed new born babies with rheumatoid arthritis and they were all crying and the cries were chilling…different from a normal cry. We decided at this point, not to have any children as it seems that it runs in his family.

Bento is with us every minute of the day and is our “baby”. When brides ask me if I have any children, I tell them that I have “Bento” and you. All my brides are like my daughters. I enjoy them so much…if they only knew how much.

Funny wedding moment: Most recent is my wedding rehearsal on Saturday, May 19, 2012. When I asked the bride and groom to say a few words after The Hawaiian Lei Exchange, the bride starts laughing and stated that she loved the groom longer than the telephone pole in a Filipino accent. It was hilarious because no one else was Filipino except for me at the rehearsal.

Sentimental moment: It is very touching for me to see the bridal couples’ raw emotion of loving bliss and tears when they are doing their vows and the �rst time they see the ceremony and reception completely decorated and are in “awe” because it was executed better than they had envision.

Special insider talent: Although I am very career oriented and ambitious, I am a DOMESTICATED GODDESS. I love every aspect of a harmonious home – I love to cook, bake, clean house, babysit and care for children. My special talent is organizing spaces and folding laundry in a professional way.

I began my business: I began my business in June 2004 and Celebrating my 8th Years Anniversary this year. I started my business because I was already doing weddings and events for family and friends as a hobby. I am naturally organized, detail oriented and have mastered time management from an early age. Being the oldest and closest to my grandparents growing up, I was a natural leader and was appointed the family organizer and coordinator for all family events and get-togethers. I have been planning and organizing special occasions and high school special events; and my own Sweet 16th since 1989 in high school. Seeing all of the happy expressions and �nal production of everything I planned brought a natural high for me. What's our favorite saying: What do you feel like eating?

Funny wedding moment: We photographed a 50th wedding anniversary/vow renewals and during the formal family portrait's the groom kept repeating the countdown after Joyce said it...."readyyyy....1...2...3". Every. Single. Time...lol

Greatest desire: To commit to the business full time and create/run a home studio.

Weaknesses: Amount of years in business. Naturally this will come with time but we have the skills necessary to perform, the drive to succeed and a product that is marketable.

Contributions: We like to give back in the form of providing services or our time both professionally and personally. We volunteered at the Special Olympics, contributed towards the American Diabetes Association and donated our services by photographing a farewell concert for the Fab 4.

Years in business? 2

How many weddings? 2011 was our �rst full year with 5 total weddings. In the future, we're targeting a maximum of 12 in a year. Last year we did 5 and 7 overall.

Why should a bride/ vendor work with you?

We're likable and easy to work with. We're organized, thoughtful and detail oriented. Also being a husband and wife team, we have an understanding of what the bride/couple is going through and use this knowledge to help if and where possible.

We want to: One day photograph a wedding in another country.

We like: Hanging out with friends and family, spending time with our doggies and trying out new foods.

Hobbies: Running, weight lifting, hiking, gol�ng, and eating.

Favorite food/meal: Joyce - chocolate. Destin - a good steak.

Candy: Joyce - Twix. Destin - Reese's peanut butter cups.

Pets: Kanoa (pug-beagle mix) & Keiko (Chihuahua-poodle-terrier mix).

Color: Joyce – pink. Destin - blue.

Way I relax: Joyce - read a good book. Destin - watch TV.

3 ways I inspire myself: Watching other professionals through PhotoVision Video, glancing through social media,Practice, practice, practice.

Favorite time period: 40's, 60's, 80's: 80's an excellent time for fashion and music.

Each other, our dogs, our families and friends and good food.We don't like: Tra�c, crowded shopping malls, last minutes plans, and foie gras.

Why should people care about: A wedding photographer plays an important role in a wedding by capturing the day's events and details. Wedding photography is a special niche and wedding photographers have the training and experience needed to create amazing images. These photographs allow a couple to go back and relive their special day; a lot of which they might miss since it �ies by.

Desserts: Joyce - chocolate sou�é. Destin - Ben & Jerry's half baked ice cream.

Loving sentimental moment: Seeing the groom get emotional.

We began our business because: Destin initially wanted a career change. After our wedding and attending a bunch of friends' weddings he saw what he could potentially be doing instead; wedding photography. When Joyce jumped on board we decided that there was a market for a budget friendly photography company considering the economic struggles at the time. Our love for photography to capture the love of others sprouted Reel Love Photography!

We get inspired when: We see anything that relates to weddings. When we see amazing images taken by other talented photographers. When we see the bright eyes and huge smiles of children. When we see the sincerity of a couple so deep in love. When we see light, colors, �owers, architecture or FOOD!

What kind of FB member are you; active, passive, aggressive?

Active de�nitely. Enough to keep up with everyone's current events and to post our own as well but not going overboard by sharing more than is needed for public view.
