1|3 The WÖHWA belt weigher can easily be installed in almost any type of conveyor belt chassis. For the two most frequent types of conveyor chassis, tube frame and U-frame, a PDF file with a questionnaire can be downloaded or filled in on-line with all technical details that our engineers need to know to handle your inquiry. The WÖHWA belt weigher can easily be installed in almost any type of conveyor belt chassis. If all technical details have been carefully filled in, the belt weigher can be pre-fabricated in the WÖHWA workshop for easy and quick installation in a conveyor belt chassis on site.

Image 1 shows a so-called „U-frame“ with integrated WÖHWA belt weigher. The weighing station is to be mounted as per instructions in the document „Planning and installing WÖHWA type belt weighers, type SFB “. Image 2 shows a tube-type conveyor belt chassis. This type of chassis allows an easy installation of the WÖHWA belt weigher. During installation, care must be taken to make sure that the load on the weigher station is transmitted to the load cell. In certain cases, this may require the installation of an additional idler station, which must have the same degree of inclination as the two idler stations before and after the weighing station.

The terminal box is supplied by WÖHWA with a mounting plate that must be fixed to the conveyor belt chassis. It should be noted that the connection cable for the load cell is 3m long and must not be shortened.

WÖHWA belt weighers can also be mounted in a conveyor belt chassis made of bent steel sheet. Image 3 shows how the belt weigher has been installed to make sure that the stability of the chassis is not impaired.

Special types of chassis WÖHWA has also gained experience in installing belt weighers with a high degree of accuracy in conveyor belts with catenary or cable idlers. Two different methods are available to install a weighing station in such a conveyor belt. The first possibility is to use a specifically made idler station, manufactured by WÖHWA, for holding the catenary idlers. To achieve a high degree of accuracy of the belt weigher, it must be made sure, when mounting the catenary idlers, that the idler profile of this special station is identical to the profile of the stations located before and after it. The second possibility is to use five idler stations with a fixed and defined idler profile. The center station will be installed in the conveyor belt as weighing station in a similar way as described for the other types of chassis. In some special cases it may become necessary to install several idler stations on a weighing platform. For example, if the conveyed material is not homogenous or if, from time to time, very large and heavy pieces of rock can occur. However, this is no problem for WÖHWA and several such weighing platforms have already been installed. WÖHWA belt weighers have also been successfully installed for recording material flows in mobile crushing or screening stations used in recycling plants. The use of overload protection devices is highly recommended for belt weighers in mobile plants to reduce the danger of damage to the load cell by momentary peak loads.
