Hi,

Well, it’s Sunset for my Presidency. This last show of our 62nd Season promises to be a great Send Off for me. Playmakers has produced three one of a kind shows since last November. I am so happy this occurred in “my year” because from my known opinions over forty years here, this is what for me counts as the most important—great theatre from our community theatre enthusiasts to entertain our fellow neighbors who enjoy being an audience member.

Thanks to all of the directors who assembled those great casts and crews, to those specific tech specialists that have enabled these shows to be hits with unique sets, lighting and sound, and to those folks who work with our audiences be-fore and after the performance—cleaning the house, publicizing a show, loaning furnishings and props, changing the marquee, selling tickets, talking up a show, house managing, ushering, working refreshments, Opening Nights, and the list goes on and on!

I am sad that this show was picked to ease the way for our new remodeling and expansion plans, and now we have had to enter into a hold pattern. We have faith that our well planned goal WILL be achieved sooner than later, but we, like most other private and public endeavors, must be realistic about what we can risk at this time. Our community supports us after 62 years, and so when the right time arrives, we know we can continue with it’s full support.

Congratulations to Jan Huston for assembling twenty-two talented actors who will spark this unusual play on dealing with finding your life-mate. I watched a full rehearsal last week, and there is so much excitement in seeing all the various presentations by 22 unique characters. Those new-to-our-stage actors pictured on the cover add so much to the productions. Thanks for your contribution and I hope we will see you at auditions next season.

Finally, we would close the doors on this com-munity theatre were it not for the support of our loyal Season Ticket holders. Next Season, they will be saving $24 over our single ticket prices for the four shows; that is, their season ticket for $30 will pay the bill for the two musicals, CLUE and MAME; the two fantastic plays in January and March, 2010, will be FREE to them!!! WOW!!

Every year the PCT Nominating Committee, composed of the past three presidents and the Managing Director, forms the slate of Officers and Trustees for the upcoming year –August to August. President - Sue DoellVice-President - Dale JensenRecording Secretary - Monette GarnMembership Secretary - Bonnie SegaardTreasurer - Sylvia ChappellPast President - Richard RennTrustees: Nadine Jensen, Millie Butts, Margot McCann, Steve Heineman, DonDoell and Matt Parker

Appointed positions will be established at the first Board Meeting of the 2009 - 2010 season.

PLEASE NOTE: (from our MD, E. David Baker)

We have just finished tax season and hopefully all of you have taken advantage of your donations to the theatre.

While it is not legal to deduct for time spent in support of the organization, it is possible to deduct other contributions you make throughout the year if you itemize.

For instance, you may deduct mileage for errands you run in support of the Guild, or for a particular show. Delivering season tickets, or advertising sales, visiting pro-spective new advertisers, etc., all count to-wards deductions.

So, get on board for 2010 and sell those season tickets and some ads for the pro-grams. It works not only to the advantage of the Theatre, but to your own as well.
