Vehicle Exhibition and Mechanic ShopWhilst the Cross Bronx Expressway is essentially splitting the Tremont neighborhood into two distinct urban fabrics, the primary objective is to design a building occupying the space underneath the highway to link the Residential and Industrial districts back to-gether again.A multipurpose Vehicle Exhibition and Mechanic Shop will be the attraction to make the site a destination, and aim to bring awareness of sustainability, to ultimately generate a dialogue through views, materials, and programs to reconnect function-wise opposite communities off from the Cross Bronx Expressway. The Vehicle Exhibition and Mechanic Shop will rejuvenate the region of the Bronx, as part of the masterplan initiating to more decisively reevaluate the Southern Bronx back on the greater contextual map of New York City as an influential destination.
