Being W.E.L.L.

From Our Pastor… Did you enjoy worship this past Sunday? As you know, the message centered around spiritual growth and like Paul Harvey says, “Now for the rest of the story,” this Sunday. The book of 1 John helps us understand that every Jesus follower has the responsibility to grow spiritually. Our church family is only as spiritually mature as you and I are individually. Won’t you be a part of this important study Sunday morning? I have already shared with many of the Sunday School classes what the book of Colossians chapter 3 and verses 15-16 expresses about maturity. One of the elements found there is: Peace in the Body. (Everybody is a somebody with respect to their needs.) Next, the teaching of the Word of God and worship filled with hymns, Psalms, and spiritual songs. This element creates an environment so we can respond to the leading of the Spirit of God. Another element of spiritual maturity is found in the very words of Jesus. He says,…Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done…” That has been my prayer for the past seven years. During that time, I have witnessed to you on many occasions praying “…Please Lord, Thy will be done…” This has to be the heart cry of our lives else we miss God. The Scripture states- “…Without a vision, the people perish.” Vision from God only occurs when, with all our hearts, we plead “…Thy will be done.” As you know, the Lord challenges us to participate in whatever is necessary to reach the souls of men, women, boys and girls. What we have learned from our ministries of the past, teach us to do whatever is necessary to bring these into this wonderful fellowship of our Lord’s Kingdom. When we are obedient His joy is ours. I really love you and thank you for the privilege of serving with you in our fellowship. Together we have more opportunities to share in God’s great peace mission. After all, didn’t Jesus say we could have His “peace”? This coming Sunday will be a very special time of togetherness as we go to Landmark Park for our Annual Picnic. It’s going to be a great time for all of us as we play softball, pitch horseshoes, ride in a wagon, listen to great blue-grass music and all the other activities. All you need to bring is You! Everything else will be provided. It starts at 4 p.m. Don’t miss it!One more quick thing about our FLC.
