Why are thinking skills important in MFL?

They:•help you to think for yourself;•help you to deconstruct language and to

understand that languages have patterns and rules;

•help you to articulate your understanding;•give you the opportunity to learn from each

other;•promote active involvement;•foster links with other subject areas by using

similar strategies.

What are the five thinking skills?

They are:•Information processing skills;•Reasoning skills;•Enquiry skills;•Creative thinking skills;•Evaluation skills.
