SALT & LIGHT MINISTRY NEWS
SALT & LIGHT MINISTRY COMMITTEE The Salt & Light Ministry Committee needs representatives from St. Dominic & St. Francis. If you are interested (and
hopefully, you are), talk to a committee member or call Bob Rice
at 585-526-7077. Also, this month’s items are paper products: paper towels, napkins & toilet paper. Please leave your
donation in the specially-marked bins in each church’s.
OPERATION RICE BOWL CONCLUDES Our community changed lives this Lent, and CRS Rice Bowl
wants to say, THANK YOU! If you have not already done so, please place your Operation Rice Bowl box in the receptacle in the
back of each church. (Receptacles will be collected up after this
weekend.) The total collected will be printed in a future bulletin.
CLIMATE CHANGE GROUP CHALLENGE! Can our 3 churches of St. Peter's Parish work together to
replace a total of 100 incandescent light bulbs with LED bulbs?
In the back of each Church, there is a very bright yellow, very large paper bulb. Next to the yellow bulb is a white paper with
a place for your family name and a place for the number of incandescent light bulbs you replaced. In recording the number
of bulbs you can use either the number or tally lines. For each
bulb you replace, put a star sticker on the large yellow bulb. Working together we will be able to replace 100 bulbs quickly!
Remember, each LED bulb will last between 25,000 and 35,000 hours! As you replace your incandescent bulbs with the LEDs
you purchased from Stacy Liberati or bought from somewhere else ~ don't forget to put on your Star and add to our tally!
Someone recently asked how to dispose of CFL bulbs? Since
these bulbs do have a small amount of mercury in them, they should not be put into the trash. Both Home Depot and Lowe's
will recycle old CFL (Compact Fluorescent Lights) bulbs.
COMMUNITY SHRED DAY Are boxes of old bills, canceled checks & other papers with
personal information on them cluttering up your home? Bring them ALL to the Community Shred Day, sponsored by the
Canandaigua National Bank, on Sat., Apr. 16th from 9 am-1 pm. A shredding truck will be at the bank in Shortsville, ready to take
your old materials, shred them, and recycle them!
EARTH DAY CELEBRATION ~ SATURDAY, APRIL 23rd See the flyer in today’s bulletin for details.
SALT & LIGHT COMMITTEE ~ TIME OF REFLECTION SAVE THE DATE—SATURDAY, APRIL 30th
9 am-Noon in St. Francis Hall Fr. Daniel Ruiz from St. Benedict’s Parish in Canandaigua will
lead members of our Parish’s Salt & Light Committee in a brief
“Time Of Reflection”. The focus of the morning will be on our Christian commitment, as individuals and as a community, to
serve the poor. All parishioners are invited to attend. Coffee & light breakfast items will be available. Please let us know if
you’d like to attend via e-mail ([email protected]), phone (315-
462-2961) or by signing up in the back of church.
COFFEE HOURS AT ST. FRANCIS St. Francis offers a Coffee Hour after the 10 AM Mass on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month. We would like to continue these as they offer opportunities for sharing our faith. We are looking for volunteers to help. Anyone who is willing to host the coffee hour, bring snacks and/or juice or make coffee in our kitchen, should contact Mary Ellen Darling, Jane Bree, Laurie Caves or Val Lapresi-Schmitz after the 10 AM Mass.

Dear Parishioners, On Good Friday March 25, (9 months ‘til Christmas) our

while Charlie Goodberlet holds an ox and a lamb. The twelve figures each have interior lighting.

latest instrument with 5 manuals and 86 ranks. The open house
will be from 1:00 to 4:00 PM this Sunday. All are welcome. Sincerely, Father Gagnier
