How can we stop this?We can challenge our friends and family who regurgitate hateful stories from the Daily Mail. But there is something more we can do. Newspapers depend on advertising revenues that come from large high-street companies, including Marks and Spencer.

Marks and Spencer proudly proclaims its ethical business credentials and presents itself as a socially responsible company. So why are they associating themselves with newspapers that promote hate?Call on M&S to withdraw its special offers and advertising deals with the Daily Mail.

Four ways to ask M&S to stop supporting hate1. E-mail Steve Rowe, CEO of

M&S [email protected]

2. Tweet to @marksandspencer using hashtag #StopFundingHate

3. Spread the word by placing our handy stop funding hate cards in your local store

TIME TO STOP FUNDING THE DAILY MAILHate-filled media stories are contributing to a violent culturetowards migrants, refugees and anyone else that the media saysare not welcome here.

A recent United Nations report singled out the UK’s media as being “uniquely aggressive in its campaigns against refugees and migrants.” The Daily Mail constantly portrays migrants negatively, only

ever seeing them as a problem and never as human beings who can enrich the societies where they relocate.Violent hate crime has risen in recent months, so we need to stand up to the parts of the media that are helping to normalise racist and xenophobic attitudes. That means challenging the Daily Mail.
