    STEPS TO DOWNLOAD AND CONFIGURE THUNDERBIRD:

    1. Download the Thunderbird setup from the intranet available underCorporate Email

    Download Thunderbird

    2. Click SaveAs and save it to your local machine.

    3. Run the Setup that is downloaded:

    3.1. Click Next3.2. Accept Terms and Conditions

    3.3. Setup Type as Standard, click Next3.4. Finishes the installation and Launch the Thunderbird by enabling the launch button.3.5. In the next step if you get any Addons, click on donot check and proceed further.

    4. This opens the homepage of the Thunderbird.

    5. Click Tools Account Settings and a window opens as shown.

    6. Click on Add Account, select Email Account and click on Next

    7. Enter your email address and click on next.

    8. Select IMAP and Enter incoming server name as incoming.uiic.com

    9. Change both the user names to your complete Email address

    10. Click Next and Finish the Account creation Wizard.

    11. Next Go to Outgoing Server (SMTP) Tab and click on Add and enter details as shown below.

    12. Click on OK and this finishes the Account Creation.

    13. Now click on Manage folder subscriptions underAdvanced Features.

    14. Enter your email password and enable all the check boxes and click on subscribe as shown

    below and Click OK.

    15. This completes the installation of Thunderbird and your page now should look as follows.

    To Download Mails to your local machine using Thunderbird:

    1. To download mails to your local machine, right click on particular mail and click on SAVE AS

    and save to your machine as shown below. This saves single mail at a time but not multiple

    mails to your machine.

    2. To download multiple mails to your local machine at a single step, download the

    ImportExportTools-2.4.1 available in the Intranet Corporate Email ImportExportTools

    3. Save the tool to your local machine and import the tool to your Thunderbird as follows:

    4. Click on Install button and select the ImportExportTools-2.4.1 and select Install Now as

    shown below and restart Thunderbird:

    5. Now you will get Save Selected Messages option as shown below and select single or

    multiple messages and save them to your local machine as and when required.

    NOTE: Since Thunderbird utilizes more memory when it is kept opened and use it only

    when you want to save the mails to the local machine. And hence for normal mail

    communications, suggested to use Intranet login or Webmail login.
