Proposed skyscraper design for an Eco- Corporation at 40th Street and 6th Avenue Manhattan diagonal to Bryant Park. The tapering 47 story design incorporates a morphinghexagonal patterned facade that lifts off of the ground on the south side to create a water-capturing awning that provides shelter for the oudoor public space. Other features include a living wall in the ground level restaurant, south facing winter gardens every third floor, a three-floor ventilation system, hydronic radiant floor heating, offices, a display space, and below grade auditorium.

The focus of this project was zoning as well as programmatic relationships and how these two factors can be used to recreate and revitalize a desolate area in Syracuse, NY. Specifically, itutilizes the concepts behind the “mash-up” or themixed use building that incorporates activities orprograms that may not be considered typical. In this particular design there is housing, parking, a bookstore, a print center, a cafe, a gym, a gardenand an art gallery. Adjacency acts as the organizing agent between programs.

This project focuses on the role of context and program in the development of architectural strategy. The location, Seneca Falls, NY, offers a rich and complex history for civil, gender, and environmental rights all along one boulevard. The design, The Environmental Rights Institute, includes privateoffices, a public
forum, a library and a transformable indoor/ outdoor public green space.

Spatial ConTXT was a collaborative art installation that began as an investigation of social media, technology and space. 7th and 8th graders in the “Say Yes ToEducation” Program were allowed to ask questions of the Syracuse Community. Four questions were chosen, such as: “What do we do with all of the abandoned houses?” We then made art installations displaying these questions at four locations throughout the city, asking the community for their answers. The answers were collected through text messaging, tweets, and e-mail.They were then made into a digital display in conjunction with the Urban Video Project and projected onto the façade of The Everson Museum on May 4, 2011.

The following are images of works of art produced as studies and independent explorations in expression. My background in art is extensive and includes participation in the Gifted and Talented Art Program of Chesterfield County (also known as the ALPHA program) from fifth grade through high school, art showings and sales throughout California, art showcases, commissions, and sales in South Carolina, and study of visual art and representation at Guilford Technical Community College and at Syracuse University.
When asked how I began producing art, my mother said, “With crayon, on the kitchen walls”.
