The Aquilion 64 has specifically addressed workflow integration to optimize productivity and

Fast and flexible workflow

Thin slice volume data is reconstructed and sent to a 3D workstation for further processing; thick slice MPR data is created simultaneously and sent to a viewing station for initial diagnosis. This is performed without operator interaction and fully controlled by the exam protocol.

Patented accuracy for 64 slice scanning Toshiba's patented cone beam reconstruction algorithm based on the Feldkamp method incorporates data from views close to the image reconstruction plane. This completely new algorithm is best suited to 64-slice scanning because it:

• Avoids and/or corrects cone angle effect and artifacts

• Maintains the proper slice profile and image integrity

• Ensures superior image quality over the full field of view

Customized solutions for cardiac care SURECardio* software automatically facilitates optimal scan parameter and reconstruction settings. The Aquilion 64 integrates a variety of cardiac analysis packages.

• Cardiac MPR re-orients the volume to the Horizontal Long Axis (HLA), Vertical Long Axis (VLA) and Short Axis (SA)

• Cardiac Function Analysis calculates the various functional parameters, such as ejection fraction, wall motion, cardiac output, etc from images reconstructed at various phases of the heart cycle

• SUREPlaque™* provides quantitative measurements of calcified and soft plaque and can provide a ratio of total plaque (wall volume) to the patent vessel lumen
