She has also performed at The Verona Studio in The Open House, and Dead Man’s Cell Phone. Jodi appreciates her husband Jon’s patience and support when she is involved in a production. In her “down” time, Jodi can be found in the company of her hus-band, son Parker, and two dogs.

8 PENTACLE THEATRE

Jon StuberMusic DirectorJon served as music director for Urinetown and The Addams Fam-ily, and as rehearsal accompanist for Les Misé rables and Young

Frankenstein. During the day, Jon works for Aldrich Advisors as well as an adjunct faculty at Lewis and Clark College in the Department of Music. As a performer, he has appeared with Resonance Ensemble, Consonare Chorale, Portland Vocal Con-sort, Columbia Chorale, and the Columbia Symphony Orchestra. While completing his doctoral program, Jon made his Euro-pean debut at Truro Cathedral in Corn-wall, England. On weekends, you can find him either in the garden, frying chicken, or at the movies.

Lauren AlexanderEnsembleLauren is a California transplant in her first year at Willamette Univer-sity—brand new—and so excited to have found Pentacle. Lauren has

been doing community theater, school the-ater, and professional theater since she was little. Her most recent credits have been fea-

tured ensemble in Carrie, Rachel Lynde in Anne of Green Gables, and Sour Kangaroo in Seussical with the Young Artists Ensemble. She has also been stage managing at her high school and professionally with YA4Ever; her most recent show being Peter and the Starcatcher. Lauren is originally from Thou-sand Oaks, California. She is up in Oregon (the most beautiful place in the world) to study history and music. She also holds a job in the gift store at the Oregon Capitol build-ing and in her free time loves to read, watch a lot of Netflix, and sing way too much. She hopes you enjoy the show!!

Karl AndersonEnsembleKarl is excited to join the Jesus Christ Super-star team to make his debut on the Pentacle Theatre stage (really any stage for a major

production). It has always been his favor-ite musical. He thanks his entire fam-ily for their interest in this endeavor, but especially his wife Kara Quello for her encouragement, support and coaching. Karl recently retired early from Thrivent Financial and is now starting a consulting business, which has allowed for a lifestyle change, including less business travel and more time for Jesus Christ Superstar!

10 PENTACLE THEATRE

Isaiah BurrellPontius PilateThis is Isaiah’s Pen-tacle Theatre debut. He has lived in Salem his whole life and has one beautiful daughter and another on the way.

Isaiah has been a personal trainer for the last four years. His hobbies include singing (of course!), hiking, athletic activities, and spending time with his family.

Alan ChesireEnsembleThis is Alan’s first Pen-tacle Theatre produc-tion. He was dragged to his first theater audition in 1973 and badgered into trying out for a

part in a murder mystery. He got the part, much to his surprise, and then discovered that he loved the stage. Since then, he has performed in some 40 plays and musicals, mostly for theater groups in Central Ore-gon. Alan has always loved to garden, and for many years had a certified organic farm on 10 acres near Redmond. After selling the farm, he and his wife Laura moved to Salem last October. They have three chil-dren, two daughters in Bend and a son in Portland. Alan is an OSU Master Gardener.

Their new home has a large garden area, and he plans to spend a lot of time there with his hands in the dirt this spring and summer. The rest of his time, if he isn’t in a play, will probably be spent on the water, as he is also an avid fly fisherman.

Lauren DonovanEnsembleThis is Lauren’s third

show and first musi-

cal at Pentacle Theatre.

You may have seen her

on the Pentacle stage

last year as Lizzie in

The Rainmaker. Lauren would like to

thank Jo Dodge for her class and mentor-

ship, her Mommy and Daddy for support-

ing her every whim, and Geri for giving

her the opportunity to dance and sing in

this beautiful show!

in improv and once had a late night radio show. He lives in Salem and has two younger sisters who are much more tal-ented than he is. During the daylight hours he works as a data analyst. At night he works on various art projects, sometimes anonymously playing songs at local open mics. In his free time, Ty can be found wandering in one of the many nearby for-ests, sitting under a waterfall, or on the beach staring longingly towards the dying sun. He is also colorblind.

Brett HochstetlerPeter (Simon Peter)Brett is no stranger to Pentacle Theatre, where he most recently appeared in this year’s fundraiser Seussical as Horton. Other Pentacle

credits include Oliver!, Fiddler on the Roof,

RENT, Legally Blonde, The Secret Garden, A Star is Born, Les Misérables, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown (Linus), Young Frankenstein (The Monster), Chicago, The Addams Family (Fester), Urinetown (Offi-cer Lockstock), and 9 to 5. Brett works in small engine equipment sales and parts at Rickreall Farm Supply, and when he isn’t working or acting, he enjoys reading and watching sports. PRESIDENT’S CORNER

S pring is upon us! Or, at least, Oregon’s version of Spring is upon us. I personally have had one of the darkest winters I have ever faced in my adult life. I am looking forward to

the renewal and to the light that a change in seasons can bring. Most recently, I have had the chance to reflect on the gifts

Pentacle Theatre has given me over the years since I first started volunteering here in 2004. Pentacle has been a creative outlet, a place of learning and expansion of horizons. But, most impor-tantly, it has given me a community. I am grateful for the friend-ship and the support I have received from my Pentacle commu-nity when I needed it most.

The mental, physical and emotional efforts of many are what keep us vibrant. So far the 2017 season has brought us the comedy of Noises Off and the drama of Emma’s Child. I also celebrate the recent win of the Oregon One Act Competition of The Zoo Story. With our current production, Jesus Christ Superstar, we launch another world where the fruits of many will be compiled into one rocking show. It’s humbling to receive the gifts of our community again and again.

Thank you to all of you who support Pentacle and thank you Pentacle for all you have done for me.

Heather Toller, Pentacle Theatre Governing Board President

I n this hilarious comedy by the author of Lend Me A Tenor and Moon Over Buffalo, two English Shakespearean actors, Jack and Leo, find themselves so down on their luck that they are performing “Scenes from Shakespeare” on the

Moose Lodge circuit in the Amish country of Pennsylvania. When they hear that an old lady in York, PA is about to die and leave her fortune to her two long lost English nephews, they resolve to pass themselves off as her beloved relatives and get the cash. The trouble is, when they get to York, they find out that the relatives aren’t nephews, but nieces!

Jennifer Gimzewski is directing Pentacle Theatre’s production of Leading Ladies with the help of assistant director Gregory Jolivette. The cast includes Walt Haight, Jade Halpern, Tom Hewitt, Lucas Hill, Joyce Kemp, Ed Kramer, Bella Steele, and Br d Steiner.

Leading Ladies opens on Friday, May 26, and plays through Saturday, June 17. Tickets are available at the Pentacle Theatre ticket office located at 145 Liberty St. NE in downtown Salem or online at pentacletheatre.org. For more information, contact the Pentacle Theatre ticket office at 503-485-4300. Leading Ladies is made possible by the generous sponsor-ship of the OregonWest Excursions.

“Ludwig’s newest farce is so funny, it will make sophisticated and reasonable men and women of the 21st century cackle till their faces hurt.”
