1. Let us read Mark 1:1,14,15 and discover the four things that constituted Jesus’ gospel; namely: The Time is Fulfilled; The Kingdom of God is at Hand; Repent, and Believe the Gospel. 2. Note: The Time is Fulfilled denotes prophecy. The Kingdom of God is at Hand implies urgency. The call to Repentance is a call to righteousness. The call to Believe the Gospel is a call to have faith and exercise faith. 3. Note: We must study the preaching of Jesus because we are called to proclaim the everlasting gospel of Revelation 14:6-12. 4. What event had recently occurred that prompted Jesus to declare “The Time is Fulfilled?” Mark 1:9-11___________________________ 5. Note: The prophecy that was fulfilled by Jesus’ baptism was the 69 prophetic weeks of Daniel 9:24,25. 6. What did Jesus received at His baptism? John 1:29-34,40,41; Acts 10:37,38________________________________________________ 7. The second part of Jesus’ message after the saying that the Time is Fulfilled was that the Kingdom of God is at Hand. Mark 1:15. 8. Since the Time is Fulfilled is connected to Jesus’ baptism, then the Kingdom of God must be connected to Jesus’ crucifixion. Jesus’ crucifixion was the second great event of the prophecy of Daniel 9:24-27. 9. Note: In the Bible, the expression the Kingdom of God has two primary applications. Firstly, the Kingdom of Glory; secondly, the Kingdom of Grace. 10. Note: The Kingdom of Glory also means the Throne of Glory. A kingdom denotes that a throne is present and vice versa. The Kingdom of Grace also means the Throne of Grace. 11. Note: The Kingdom of Glory or Throne of Glory points to the second advent, even the third advent (after the 1000 years of Revelation 20, when Jesus descends with New Jerusalem). 12. Read the following scripture and discover the confirmation that the Kingdom of Glory is the Throne of Glory when Jesus returns. Matthew 25:31,34. 13. Read the following scripture and discover the confirmation the Kingdom of Grace or the Throne of Grace is pardon and victory over sin. Hebrews 4:15,16. "The time is fulfilled, the kingdom of God is at hand," had been their message. At the expiration of "the time"--the sixty-nine weeks of Daniel 9, which were to extend to the Messiah, "the Anointed One"--Christ had received the anointing of the Spirit after His baptism by John in Jordan. And the "kingdom of God" which they had declared to be at hand was established by the death of Christ… As used in the Bible, the expression "kingdom of God" is employed to designate both the kingdom of grace and the kingdom of glory. The kingdom of grace is brought to view by Paul in the Epistle to the Hebrews. After pointing to Christ, the compassionate intercessor who is "touched with the feeling of our infirmities," the apostle says: "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace." Hebrews 4:15, 16. The throne of grace represents the kingdom of grace; for the existence of a throne implies the existence of a kingdom. In many of His parables Christ uses the expression "the kingdom of heaven" to designate the work of divine grace upon the hearts of men. {GC 346.4} The kingdom of grace was instituted immediately after the fall of man, when a plan was devised for the redemption of the guilty race. It then existed in the purpose and by the promise of God; and through faith, men could become its subjects. Yet it was not actually established until the death of Christ… But when the Saviour yielded up His life, and with His expiring breath cried out, "It is finished," then the fulfillment of the plan of redemption was assured. The promise of salvation made to the sinful pair in Eden was ratified. The kingdom of grace, which had before existed by the promise of God, was then established. {GC 347.2}

14. Note: The last two parts of Jesus’ message were: Repent and Believe and the Gospel. Mark 1:15. 15. Those two calls were necessary because probation was about to close according to Daniel 9:24-27. 16. Let us read Isaiah 28:9-13 and compare the above events on the timeline of Jesus with the timeline for us in these last days. 17. Note: The baptism of Jesus in A.D. 27, when He was empowered, was a confirmation that His crucifixion in A.D. 31 and the close of probation in A.D. 34 would occur. 18. Note: The crucifixion of Jesus typifies the Mark of the Beast crisis. There can be only two classes. Each party is distinctly stamped, either with the seal of the living God, or with the mark of the beast or his image. Each son and daughter of Adam chooses either Christ or Barabbas as his general. And all who place themselves on the side of the disloyal are standing under Satan's black banner, and are charged with rejecting and despitefully using Christ. They are charged with deliberately crucifying the Lord of life and glory. {RH, January 30, 1900 par. 4}

19. Note: The baptism of Jesus represents current events that are fulfilling Bible prophecies and that show that the Mark of the Beast, the Sunday Law crisis, is near. Heretofore those who presented the truths of the third angel's message have often been regarded as mere alarmists. Their predictions that religious intolerance would gain control in the United States, that church and state would unite to persecute those who keep the commandments of God, have been pronounced groundless and absurd. It has been confidently declared that this land could never become other than what it has been--the defender of religious freedom. But as the question of enforcing Sunday observance is widely agitated, the event so long doubted and disbelieved is seen to be approaching, and the third message will produce an effect which it could not have had before. {GC 605.3}

20. Note: As Jesus preached that the Time is Fulfilled, we must preach that the Time is Fulfilling. As Jesus preached that the Kingdom of God, the Kingdom of Grace is at Hand, we must preach that the Kingdom of Grace and the Kingdom of Glory are at Hand.

21. Read the following and discover what grace is. If we do not experience upon the throne of our hearts, we will not enter the Kingdom of Glory. Ephesians 2:1-10; Titus 2:11-14; 2 Peter 1:2-4; Genesis 6:8,9 and Hebrews 11:6,7.

Thus the gospel message, as given by the Saviour Himself, was based on the prophecies. The "time" which He declared to be fulfilled was the period made known by the angel Gabriel to Daniel. "Seventy weeks," said the angel, "are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most holy." Daniel 9:24… In A. D. 27, Jesus at His baptism received the anointing of the Holy Spirit, and soon afterward began His ministry. Then the message was proclaimed. "The time is fulfilled." {DA 233.1}
