What is amiracle?

An extraordina

ry event caused by divine or spiritual power. Miracles

are a part of the

gospel of Jesus

Christ. (see Bible Dictionary, “Miracles,” 732–33)

The Prophet Elijah raises a boy from the dead.

The Prophet Elisha heals Naaman, a

leper.

The Prophet Elisha prays and

feeds a multitude with a small amount of

food. Old Testament Miracles:

The Prophets performed miracles through the Priesthood,

the divine power given to them by Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

Jesus travels through Galilee teaching the gospel and performing miracles...

Jesus performed many miracles that directly blessed just one person.

He can bring us peace.

Jesus cast out a legion of devils.

Spiritual Truth:He can cast Satan and his influence out of our lives.

Mark 5:1–20

Jesus raised a young man from the dead.

Spiritual Truth:Because of His

Atonement, we will rise from the dead in

the Resurrection. Luke 7:11–17.

Thy Faith Hath Made Thee Whole

Faith Must Precede Miracles

12 For if there be no faith among the children of men God can do no miracle among them; wherefore, he showed not himself until after their faith.18 And neither at any time hath any wrought miracles until after their faith; wherefore they first believed in the Son of God. Ether 12:12, 18

Pres. Brigham Young said:

“Miracles, or these extraordinary

manifestations of the power of God, are not

for the unbeliever; they are to console the Saints, and to strengthen and

confirm the faith of those who love, fear,

and serve God” (Discourses of Brigham Young, sel. John A. Widtsoe [1941], 341).
