TIME IS A PRECIOUS RESOURCETo God, it is very important how we manage the time He has given us. Because time is such a precious resource, the Bible cautions us to manage it wisely. The Apostle Paul

made this critical point in his letter to the Ephesians:

14 This is why it is said: “Wake up, sleeper,  rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”  15 Be very careful, then, how you live —not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every

opportunity, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.

- Ephesians 5:14-17

Ask yourself: Am I making the most of every opportunity that God gives me to understand & accomplish His will for my life? To be used by Him and to glorify Christ in

my life? Am I spending that time wisely or foolishly?

Remember that time management requires us to make wiser decisions. Let us ask God for that same wisdom (Psalm 90:12; James 1:5)

EL TIEMPO ES UN RECURSO MUY VALIOSOPara Dios, es muy importante en como manejamos el tiempo que El nos ha dado. Porque el

tiempo es un recurso tan valioso, la Biblia nos advierte para manejarlo con prudencia. El apostol Pablo hizo este punto critico en su carta a los Efesios:

14 …Por eso se dice: Despiertate, tu que duermes, levantate de entre los muertos,

    y te alumbrara Cristo. 15 Asi que tengan cuidado de su manera de vivir. No vivan como necios sino como sabios, 16 aprovechando al

maximo cada momento oportuno, porque los dias son malos. 17 Por tanto, no sean insensatos, sino entiendan cual es la voluntad del

Senor. - Efesios 5:14-17Preguntese: ¿Estoy aprovechando al maximo cada oportunidad que Dios me da a entender y cumplir su voluntad para mi vida? Para ser usado por El y para glorificar a Cristo en mi

vida? ¿Estoy gastando ese tiempo sabiamente o neciamente? Recuerde que la administracion del tiempo nos obliga a tomar decisiones mas sabias. Vamos a pedirle a Dios

por esa misma sabiduria (Salmo 90:12; Santiago 1:5).

• Once time is past, it can not be recovered (So don’t stay stuck in the past)

• Our time is short, and so we are uncertain of its continuance (James 4:14)

• Our eternity depends on how we use it (How we lived will determine where we go)

REASONS WHY OUR TIME IS PRECIOUS

So What must we do?

Redeeming (Buy or get back) the time, because the days are evil.- Ephesians 5:16

Walk in wisdom toward those who are outsiders, redeeming the time.- Colossians 4:5

Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended it, but this one thing I do: forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching

forth unto those things which are before.- Philippians 3:13

Let us live our lives to the fullest

in Christ.

Let us be ready at all times (Matthew 25:1-

13)

• Una vez que el tiempo es pasado, no se puede recuperar (No te quedes estancado en el pasado)

• Nuestro tiempo es corto, y no estamos seguro de su continuidad (Santiago 4:14)

• Nuestra eternidad depende de como la usamos (Como hemos vivido determinara a donde vamos)

RAZONES EN PORQUE EL TIEMPO ES MUY VALIOSO

Entonces, ¿que debemos hacer?

Aprovechando bien el tiempo, porque los dias son malos. - Efesios 5:16

Andad sabiamente para con los de afuera, redimiendo el tiempo.- Colosenses 4:5

Hermanos, yo mismo no pretendo haberlo ya alcanzado; pero una cosa hago: olvidando ciertamente lo que queda atras, y

extendiendome a lo que esta delante. - Filipenses 3:13

Vivamos nuestra vida al maximo en Cristo.

Vamos a estar listos en todo momento (Mateo 25:1-13)

• Trying to change other people (We can’t change anyone, so let go & let God)

• Things that are not in God’s will for our lives (i.e. Relationships)• Things that are not in His right timing (i.e. Promotion)• Meditating on the wrong things (i.e. problems)• Sin & other things that don’t edify (i.e. gossip, too much television,

too much idle texting etc. Read 1Corinthians 6:12-13)

Can you think of other things that might waste our time?

IF WE ARE NOT CAREFUL, INSTEAD OF SPENDING OUR TIME WISELY, WE MIGHT

WASTE IT IN…

• Tratar de cambiar a otras personas (no podemos cambiar a nadie)• Cosas que no estan en la voluntad de Dios para nuestras vidas (ej.

una relacion)• Cosas que no estan en Su momento adecuado (ej. una promocion)• Meditando sobre las cosas incorrectas (ej. las problemas)• El pecado y otras cosas que no edifican (como el chisme,

demasiada television, demasiada mensajes de textos ocioso, etc. Lea 1Corintios 6:12-13)

Excuses, Excuses, & More ExcusesBe careful with the excuses you make. God has heard them all. “I don’t have the time!” is

on the top of that list of excuses. But God is the God of everything, including time. He will always give us opportunities to serve Him, but it depends on us on how we use the time

He has given us, and whether we spend it wisely or waste it foolishly. One day we all must give an account to God on how we have used the time He has given us.

We must live with a proper perspective on time, and be good stewards of time so that we can accomplish as much as we can with the time God has given us (Matthew 25:14-30).

We must be careful with Laziness and Complacency. We shouldn’t be content with merely surviving when there are so many opportunities to serve God & other people. Life is too short, and the accountability to God too serious, not to make the most of our days. King

David was able to accomplish much in his lifetime, because he knew this truth. Read Psalm 39:4-5.

Excusas, Excusas, y Mas ExcusasTenga cuidado con las excusas que usted hace. Dios lo ha escuchado todo. "Yo no tengo el

tiempo!" esta en la parte superior de la lista de excusas. Pero Dios es el Dios de todo, incluyendo el tiempo. El siempre nos dara la oportunidad de servirle, pero depende de

nosotros en como usamos el tiempo que El nos ha dado; Si lo estamos pasando con sabiduria, o malgastandola neciamente. Un dia todos tenemos que dar cuenta a Dios en

que forma hemos aprovechado el tiempo que El nos ha dado.

Tenemos que vivir con una perspectiva adecuada acerca del tiempo, y ser buenos administradores del tiempo, para que podamos lograr lo mas posible con el tiempo que

Dios nos ha dado (Mateo 25:14-30). Debemos tener cuidado con la pereza y la complacencia. No debemos conformarnos con simplemente sobrevivir cuando hay tantas

oportunidades de servir a Dios y otras personas. La vida es muy corta, y la responsabilidad con Dios muy serio para no sacar el maximo provecho de nuestros dias. El

rey David fue capaz de lograr mucho en su vida, porque el conocía esta verdad. Lea el Salmo 39:4-5.

Life’s Surprises Come To All PeopleYou can never really be ready for the unexpected. The element of surprise and the

things it brings with it (good or bad) is not something you can really prepare for. The point is that as children of God we need to learn how to make the most of the time

given to us. Also, that when life’s surprises come to us, we can and should be spiritually mature and smart enough to be able to cope with whatever the Lord allows in our lives. We also need to remember and “…know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.” –

Romans 8:28

Some surprises in life may include:• A death in the family

• An argument with your spouse• Getting fired from a job• Suddenly getting sick

• Getting stuck in traffic because of an elephant

Sorpresas de la vida vienen a todas las personas

Usted nunca puede estar listo para lo inesperado. El elemento de sorpresa y las cosas que trae consigo (bueno o malo) no es algo que realmente se puede preparar. El punto es que como hijos de

Dios tenemos que aprender a sacar el maximo provecho del tiempo dado a nosotros. Por otra parte, que cuando sorpresas de la vida

vienen a nosotros, podemos y debemos ser espiritualmente maduros y lo suficientemente inteligente para poder hacer frente a

lo que el Senor permite en nuestras vidas. Tambien tenemos que recordar y saber "...que todas las cosas ayudan para bien a los que

aman a Dios, a los que son llamados conforme a su proposito." - Romanos 8:28

Algunas sorpresas en la vida pueden incluir: • Una muerte en la familia

• Un argumento con su conyuge • Ser despedido de un trabajo

• De repente enfermarse • Atrapado en el trafico debido a un elefante

la razón #1 de llamar porque vas a llegar  tarde para trabajar que su jefe no va a creer.

They never got to work on time.

Nunca llegaron a tiempo al trabajo.

What about when you are working so hard on a project for it to

only be messed up by someone else? This may have taken up

some of your time but managing time also means we need to

learn how to manage the distractions in our

lives.

Remember, what may seem like a setback may only be a setup for you to see God's glory in your life. God can also restore the time that has been lost. (Joel 2:25)

¿Que pasa cuando se esta trabajando muy duro en un proyecto

para que solo sea destruido por otra

persona? Esto puede haber tomado un poco

de su tiempo, pero manejando el tiempo tambien significa que tenemos que aprender

a manejar las distracciones en nuestras vidas.Recuerde que, lo que puede parecer un contratiempo solo puede ser

una trampa para que usted vea la gloria de Dios en su vida. Dios tambien puede restaurar el tiempo que se ha perdido (Joel 2:25).

HAVE A PLAN!

It’s understandable that there are going to be surprises in life, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have a plan. Making plans (or setting goals) is a key to success in any venture we may undertake in life. Paul often made plans in his travels (Acts

15:36; 18:20; 1Cor. 16:5-9)

“HE THAT FAILS TO PLAN, PLANS TO FAIL.”

Having a good plan will always help us be better prepared. Creating a plan of action, or even a to-do-list helps us to better organize ourselves. Better organization leads us to better manage our time as well. As imitators of Christ we need to remember

that God is not a God or confusion, but of order. If that is so, then we too need to be people of order. (1Cor. 14:33) We can also ask God to lead us and order our steps (Psalm 119:133). Always submit your plans to the Lord, and let His will be done.

¡TENGA UN PLAN!

Es comprensible que van a haber sorpresas en la vida, pero eso no quiere decir que no debe tener un plan. Hacer planes (o establecer metas) es la clave del exito en cualquier empresa que puede realizar en la vida. Pablo a menudo planeaba sus

viajes (Hechos 15:36; 18:20; 1Cor 16:5-9).

"EL QUE FALLE EN PLANEAR, PLANEA FALLAR.“Tener un buen plan siempre nos ayudara a estar mejor preparados. Crear un plan de accion,

o incluso una lista de tareas-nos ayuda a organizar mejor nosotros mismos. Una mejor organizacion nos lleva a manejar mejor nuestro tiempo tambien. Como

imitadores de Cristo, debemos recordar que Dios no es un dios de confusion, sino de orden. Si eso es asi, entonces nosotros tambien necesitamos ser gente de orden. (1Cor. 14:33) Tambien podemos pedirle a Dios que nos lleva a ordenar nuestros

pasos (Salmo 119:133). Siempre presente sus planes al Senor, y deje que se haga su voluntad.

WHAT MATTERS MOST IN THE LONG RUN IS NOT HOW LONG WE LIVE, BUT HOW WE

LIVE.

That doesn’t mean that every day needs to be filled with intense, productive activity. There must always be time for rest, relaxation and play. But it should be balanced out with a well-developed sense of purpose, directed by God’s Word, so that all of our activities and decisions are brought into alignment with God’s plan,

thereby achieving our maximum potential and effectiveness with the time and resources God has given to each of us. God cares about how we manage our time and recognizing the value of time and redeeming it carefully (making the most of it) as the precious and priceless resource that it represents, is the first and most

important principle of Time Management.

A LA LARGA, LO MAS IMPORTA NO ES CUANTO TIEMPO VIVIMOS, SINO COMO

VIVIMOS.

Eso no quiere decir que cada dia necesita ser llenado con una intensa actividad productiva. Siempre debe haber tiempo para el descanso y la relajacion. Sin

embargo, debe ser balanceado con  un desarrollado sentido de proposito, dirigida por la Palabra de Dios, de modo que todas nuestras actividades y decisiones se

ponen en la alineacion con el plan de Dios, logrando asi nuestro maximo potencial y la eficacia con el tiempo y los recursos Dios ha dado a cada uno de nosotros. Dios se preocupa por como manejamos nuestro tiempo y el reconocimiento del valor del

tiempo y redimiendolo con cuidado (aprovechando al maximo de ella) como recurso precioso e inestimable que representa, es el principio primera y mas

importante de la administracion del tiempo.

THE IMPORTANCE OF TIME IN LEADERSHIPPeter Drucker was a professor, management consultant and one of the best known

and most widely influential thinkers and writers on the subject of management theory and practice. In helping leaders deal with time, he stated that Effective leaders don’t start with their task; they start with their time. They start by finding where their time actually goes. Then they attempt to manage their time and cut back on things that are unproductive. After listing these activities we devote our time to, he suggests that we

ask three questions about each activity to help minimize the amount of time we waste:

1. What would happen if this were not done at all? (If the answer is “Nothing,” the obvious conclusion is to stop doing it).

2. Which of these activities can be done by someone else just as well, if not better?3. What do I do that wastes my time (or someone else’s time) without contributing to

anyone’s effectiveness?

LA IMPORTANCIA DEL TIEMPO EN EL LIDERAZGOPeter Drucker fue profesor, consultor administrativo y uno de los pensadores y

escritores más conocidos y más influyentes sobre el tema de la teoría de la administración y la práctica. En ayudar a los líderes con el tiempo, afirmó que los líderes

efectivos no empiezan con su labor, sino que comienzan con su tiempo. Empiezan por encontrar en su tiempo que realmente ocurre. Entonces tratan de manejar su tiempo y

reducir las cosas que son improductivos. Después de listar estas actividades en que dedicamos nuestro tiempo, sugiere que preguntamos tres preguntas sobre cada

actividad para ayudar a minimizar la cantidad de tiempo que perdemos:

1. ¿Que pasaria si esto no se hiciera nada? (Si la respuesta es "Nada", la conclusion obvia es que deje de hacerlo).

2. ¿Cual de estas actividades se puede hacer por otra persona igual de bien, si no mejor?

3. ¿Que hago que me hace perder el tiempo (o algun otra persona), sin contribuir a la efectividad de cualquier persona?

PRIORITIES: WHAT COMES FIRST?Actually it’s “Who comes first?”

• When it comes to prioritizing our relationships, God should be first place in our lives (Matthew 6:33). Put time into your relationship with Him. When He is first, every other relationship falls into place, and we will love others more effectively. Love Him with all your heart (Deuteronomy 6:5). Remember that He is our first love (Revelations 2:4-5).

• Our Family; For husbands, it is their wives and for the wives it is their husbands, and then the children. For children it is their immediate family beginning with their parents whom they must honor, (Ephesians 6:2).

• The Family Of God (Read 1John 4:20-21; Hebrews 10:24-25). Every time the church comes together for worship or fellowship it is important. We are all part of the Body of Christ (1Corinthians 12:12).

THE IMPORTANCE OF TIME IN RELATIONSHIPS

PRIORIDADES: ¿QUE VIENE PRIMERO?En realidad, es "¿Quien va primero?"

• Cuando se trata de priorizar nuestras relaciones, Dios debe ser primer lugar en nuestras vidas (Mateo 6:33). Dedica tiempo en su relacion con El. Cuando El esta en primer lugar, cualquier otra relacion cae en su lugar, y vamos a amar a los demas con mayor efectividad. Hay que amarlo con todo corazon (Deuteronomio 6:5). Recuerde que El es nuestro primer amor (Apocalipsis 2:4-5).

• Nuestra Familia. Para los maridos, primero son sus esposas y para las esposas son sus maridos, y luego los hijos. Para los hijos, es su familia inmediata, comenzando con sus padres a quienes deben honrar, (Efesios 6:2).

• La familia de Dios (1 Juan 4:20-21 Lee; Hebreos 10:24-25). Cada vez que la Iglesia se reune para el culto o comunion es importante. Todos formamos parte del Cuerpo de Cristo (1 Corintios 12:12).

LA IMPORTANCIA DEL TIEMPO EN LAS RELACIONES
