What is snoring?

Snoring happens when you can't move air freely through your nose and throat during sleep. This makes the surrounding tissues vibrate, which produces the familiar snoring sound. People who snore often have too much throat and nasal tissue or floppy tissue that is more prone to vibrate.

Types Of Snoring

MOUTH SNORER

Low-frequency rumbling, similar to nasal snoring. You snore whether on your side or back. Obstructive sleep apnoea, which occurs as a result of narrowing of the airways.

NASAL SNORER

It sounds like someone doing an impersonation of someone snoring, or Darth Vader, says Marianne Davey, from the British Snoring and Sleep Apnoea Association.

TONGUE SNORER

A high-pitched snore that comes in fits and starts, and stops when you roll on your side. One of the most common causes of snoring is breathing through the mouth.

Ways To Reduce Snoring Permanently Without Any Devices

Natural herbal remedies are easily available and inexpensive. Even so, it is important to read the label on all herbal products carefully. To get the most benefit from these products, use standardized herbal products. Also, follow the directions of a qualified herbal health care provider.

While youre asleep, the airways in your head and neck relax and narrow. Its thought that the narrowing of the airways increases the speed you breathe out and changes air pressure in your airways. This causes the soft tissue to vibrate by sucking the sides of the airways in.

Evidence suggests that snoring will get worse over time if left untreated. The vibrations that occur during snoring appear to damage blood vessels that supply muscles in the head and neck.
