Tyre Pressure MonitoringWhat are the benefits of retrofitting a system?

This has been published by ADAC, the German mo-torist association:“... manually controlling tyre pressure is cumber-some and therefore is often neglected. Still the cor-rect tyre pressure is absolutely critical for safe andeconomical driving. Help comes from tyre pressuremonitoring systems (RDKS / tpms), which perma-nently monitor pressure in your tyres. ...”

The contact area of a tyre on the road is merely as large as the palm of yourhand. Four palms of rubber must ensure that you and your car will stay on theroad and arrive safely at your destination.Bridgestone's safety campaign "Think Before You Drive" has shown that "...more than 90% of drivers are driving with too low tyre pressures. The conse-quences are dramatic: 93,5 % of drivers in the EU are risking their safety. Inaddition they are wasting the equivalent of 56 million tyres and are thus crea-ting CO2 emissions of 18 million tons and are wasting 15 billion Euro..."

According to the ÖAMTC (Austria´s motorist association) a tpms can save you75 liters of fuel (i.e. approximately 130 Euro) per year on average; add to this the savings effect due to reduced tyre wear:a mere 0,4 Bar missing in your tyre pressure costs you a third of your tyre life,new tyres are due much earlier than planned and some hundred Euros blown.

LED Pressure AlarmOptical-electronic tyre pressure monitoring system

The valve cap warns with a red flashing lightwhen the pressure in the tyre is too lowLED pressure alarm is a strong tool to prevent flattyres and to reduce operating costs (fuel consump-tion, tyre wear); at the same time driving safety isimproved considerably.The sensor is installed on the valve in place of thevalve cap; during installation it automatically cali-brates to the pressure present in the tyrer and mo-nitors it permanently.

If the pressure drops by more than 0,25 Bar, thesensor warns by a red flashing light. The LED isclearly visible for 20 m even in daylight. Pressure variations as a result of temperaturechanges are automatically compensated - no falsewarnings. Anti theft protection is included by de-sign.
