Analysing the final pieceFirstly, you need to say what you think of the final

piece of work.

In pairs, answer the questions on the PEER ASSESSMENT form.

You have three minutes on each piece of work.

Rotate around the room as if you’re at a speed dating event!!

Go back to your work and read the comments made by your peers.

What have you discovered?

Use the writing framework to begin writing your own evaluation of your work.

You may use comments made by your peers as part of your final evaluation.

He ends the evaluation by saying “I believe that my final piece is a success and I am very happy with the results”.

I believe that I have succeeded in terms of my intention to combine the work of the artists with my own personal additions and, by doing so, I have created a striking final piece.

What aspects of the work are you happy with?

The evaluation refers to combining the style of two specific artists to further enrich his own ideas. “The way they can create something unusual from the ordinary, namely wrapping an object and placing it in an unexpected location, is completely surreal.

Describe how the piece compares with the style of the artist you have chosen and how it links to his/her work?

He explains in detail the steps he took to create the piece of work, the process and techniques.

Firstly, I created the shape of the key using card and newspaper. To create the hole in the middle of the top of the key I used plaster of Paris.

He honestly shares his own opinion of the final piece of work and whether he succeeded in fulfilling his intentions.

Describe the steps you took to create the piece.

Describe how the piece compares with the style of the artist you have chosen and how it links to his/her work?

The evaluation refers to visual links to the style of Picasso and Franz Marc.

He says: “I would have liked to reflect Picasso’s style a little more”.

In the evaluation, he consistently compares his own work and says that it is not surreal enough in comparison to Picasso and is more like a cartoon.

He says: “The work of two specific artists inspired me to do this piece. The artist who inspired me most was Ogwyn Davies. In his work he uses newspaper cuttings to refer to things that are relevant to him or to what he is creating. He also uses relevant words, such as in the picture of Soar-y-Mynydd”.

Describe how the piece compares with the style of the artist you have chosen and how it links to his/her work?

What would you change if you redid the piece?

Next time, I would experiment more with the font, e.g. make the font bigger in places and use a thicker font to emphasise more important words and make them stand out.
