Boo Radley : Crazy by Gnarls Barkley
I remember when, I remember, I remember when I lost my mind
There was something so pleasant about that place.
Even your emotions had an echo
In so much space
And when you're out there
Without care, Yeah, I was out of touch
But it wasn't because I didn't know enough
I just knew too much
Does that make me crazy?

Does that make me crazy?
Does that make me crazy?
Possibly [radio version]
probably [album version]
And I hope that you are having the time of your life
But think twice, that's my only advice
Come on now, who do you, who do you, who do you, who do you think
you are,
Ha ha ha bless your soul
You really think you're in control
Well, I think Im crazy
I think Im crazy
I think Im crazy
Probably
My heroes had the heart to lose their lives out on a limb
And all I remember is thinking, I want to be like them
Ever since I was little, ever since I was little it looked like
fun
And it's no coincidence I've come
And I can die when I'm done
Maybe I'm crazy
Maybe you're crazy
Maybe we're crazy
Probably
Uh, uh

Boo Radley: I am locked here.
I am chained here.
I am crazy.
Or not.
Im stuck here in this cage.
Unbreakable yet fragile chains hold me.
Though we all are held by something.
We all have walls
A restriction.
A boundary.
A rule.
It changes you. The crazy.
It holds you.
It protects you from the unbearable truth.
Thats reality. Kinda funny?
But what do I know?
Im crazy.
Though I see many things from where I stand.
But you may not see me.
Im always there.
The crazy.
[Lights fade in. Scout is walking home from school, annoyed about that the
teacher hates her. Boo Radley is glaring from the his house.]
Scout: [grumbling] That teacher hates me. Why do I even bother! I am already
smarter that the whole class. Why do I have to stand up with this! I am
never ever ever ever ever ever ever EVER going to school again!!![to
the tune of We Are Never Ever Getting Back to Together by Taylor
Swift] I am never ever ever going back to school!

the tiny treasure she had found. At home, Jem and Dill are fooling around in
the front yard]

Jem: [innocently] Dad, were not pretendin to be the Radleys. Thats wrong.
Atticus: [surprised] Well then. This is embarrassing. But, if I do catch you
pretendin to be the Bradleys [pauses, and glares at all three
children very slowly] A dosage of great bodily harm will be in your
futures.
[Walks back into the house cautiously making sure the children are being
good. As he closes the door he watches them. Then races to the window and
glowers at them. The children wave saying:]
Jim, Scout and Dill: [semi-giggle] Hi Atticus!!!
[Atticus walks away]
Scout: What now? Should we keep playing in secret?
Jem: Probably not Scout. Hey Dill wanna play cops-and-robbers?
Dill: Sure!

Scout: Oh. Ok. I have something . . .ohm . . . That . . . That is sooo much
more fun than cops-and-robbers.
[Spotlight on Jem and Dill playing without Scout and another on Scout
watching her best friends exclude her. Then she sing If I Were a Boy by Reba
McEntire]
Scout: If I were a boy
Even just for a day
I'd roll out of bed in the morning
And throw on what I wanted and go
Drink beer with the guys
And chase after girls
I'd kick it with who I wanted
And I'd never get confronted for it
Cause they stick up for me
If I were a boy
I think I could understand
How it feels to love a girl
I swear I'd be a better man
I'd listen to her
Cause I know how it hurts
When you lose the one you wanted
Cause he's taking you for granted
And everything you had got destroyed
If I were a boy
I would turn off my phone
Tell everyone it's broken
So they'd think that I was sleeping alone

I'd put myself first
And make the rules as I go
Cause I know that she'll be faithful,
Waiting for me to come home, to come home.
If I were a boy
I think I could understand
How it feels to love a girl
I swear I'd be a better man
I'd listen to her
Cause I know how it hurts
When you lose the one you wanted
Cause he's taking you for granted
And everything you had got destroyed
It's a little too late for you to come back
Say it's just a mistake,
Think I'd forgive you like that
If you thought I would wait for you
You thought wrong
But you're just a boy
You don't understand
And you don't understand, ohhhh
How it feels to love a girl
Someday you wish you were a better man
You don't listen to her
You don't care how it hurts
Until you lose the one you wanted
Cause you're taking her for granted
And everything you had got destroyed

Scout: Sure
[Ms. Maudie and Scout enter the Maudie household. Blackout]
[spotlight on Jem and Dill appears as they tip-toe towards Radley house with
a note]
Dill: [whispers] Do you think Boo will actually read this note and then
actually come and get some ice cream.
Jem: Errrr . . . I dont really know. But, its worth a shot.
[When close to a window, Jem uses a fishing pole to drop a note in a window
pane. Atticus then comes storming out yelling]
Atticus: [yelling] What do you imbeciles think your doing tormenting that
poor man? Hasnt that poor man suffered enough by the people of this god
forsaken town.

To outdoor forts and Boo Radley
Where I can only watch you with
My nose pressed up against the window pane!
You, you have fun outside
Bright, sparkling days
But believe me, dear when I say
That you can hang with who ever
But Ill always watch you the way I watch you
[a loud bang from the shot of a gun]

Its just my house and its on fire
Hotter than a fresh baked cake, lonely like a highway
Im outside of my house and its on fire
Filled with my belongings, but I know I can start fresh now
Ohhhh oh oh oh oh
Ive got my stuff on the ground
And its burning it down
Ohhhh oh oh oh oh
Im safe but my things may not
And Ill try not freaking out
My house is on fire...
My house is on fire...
Its falling with fire...
My house is on fire...
Looks like a house, but its a flame
So bright, it can burn your eyes
Better look the other way
You can try but you'll never forget memries
Im so sad but Im free
Though Im ready for my future
Ohhhh oh oh oh
Ive got my stuff on the ground
And its burning it down

Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass against us
Lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil
For thine is the kingdom
The power, and the glory
For ever and ever

Boo Radley: [as a narration] Merry Christmas!
Though my time oh so short.
So is yours.
Family is everything.
They are the rock to your beach.
The foundation to your structure
And the glue to your art project
Though they be pain
And seem like they hate you
They do it out of love
They do it for protection
From the ugly truth.

Scout: Atticus is so old.
Jem: Scout, dont say that. Hes our father
Scout: Well, he is like older than other dads. He wears glasses and reads.
Its embarrassing.

[children go sit on steps below Atticus]
Scout: What is it Atticus?
Atticus: Mockingbirds dont do one thing but make music for us to enjoy, but
sing their hearts out for us. Thats why its a sin to kill a
mockingbird. Killing one is sin, just as much as adultery and
hypocrisy. What do you think the message . . . [a mad dog comes
trotting down their street] OH CRAP! Kids get inside and tell Cal to
call and alert the neighbors, then call Sheriff Tate and ask if I can
shoot him, if he says yes tell her to bring the gun! Now go!
Scout: What gun?
Atticus: Just go!
Scout: Fine

having a gun, its standing up for somethings that might not be the
easiest option.
[Beautiful City by Hunter Parrish]
Out of the ruins and rubble
Out of the smoke
Out of our night of struggle
Can we see a ray of hope
One, pale thin ray
Reaching for the day
We can build, a beautiful city
Yes we can, Yes we can
We can build a beautiful city
Not a city of angels
But city of men
We may not reach the ending
But we can start
Slowly but truly mending
Brick by brick
Heart by heart
Now, maybe now
We start learning how
We can build, a beautiful city
Yes we can, Yes we can

You're riding high in April,
Shot down in May.
But I know I'm gonna change their tune,
When I'm right back on top in June.
That's life, funny as it seems.
Some people get their kicks,
Steppin' on dreams
But I just can't let it get me down,
Cause this big old world keeps spinnin' around.
I've been a puppet, a pauper, a pirate,
A poet, a pawn and a king.
I've been up and down and over and out
But I know one thing:
Each time I find myself flat on my face,
I pick myself up and get back in the race.
That's life, I can't deny it,
I thought of quitting,
But my heart just won't buy it.

Your words don't mean a thing
I'm not listening
Keep talking, all I know is
Jem and Scout: Daddy told me not to waste my life,
He said spread your wings my little mockingbird
Don't let what they say keep you up at night
And they can't detain you
'Cause wings are made to fly
And we don't let nobody bring us down
No matter what you say it won't hurt me
Don't matter if I fall from the sky
These wings are made to fly
Jem: I'm firing up on that runway
I know we're gonna get there someday
But we don't need no ready steady go, no
Talk, talk turns into air
And I don't even care, oh yeah
Your words don't mean a thing
I'm not listening
Keep talking, all I know is
Daddy told me not to waste my life,
He said spread your wings my little mockingbird
Don't let what they say keep you up at night

Boo Radley: Make sure you take real good care of these children. They are
wonderful. They freed my Mr. Finch and for that I will forever be
grateful for your children.
Atticus: Im so glad you feel that way. Well, youre always welcome in my
house and if you need anything, I mean anything, just ask me.
Boo Radley: Ok, how bout we just let Jem rest and can Scout take me home?
Atticus: Of course
[Scout and Boo Radley walk to Radley house holding hands. When they reach the
house Boo Radley walks alone into the house, up the stairs while the intro to
I Was Here by Beyonce plays and Scout walks home. As he sings you can see
where he stabbed Mr. Ewell and the Finch house where everyone is making sure
Jem is okay.]
Boo Radley: I wanna leave my footprints on the sands of time
Know there was something that, meant something that I left behind
When I leave this world, I'll leave no regrets
Leave something to remember, so they won't forget
I was here
I lived, I loved
I was here
I did, I've done everything that I wanted
And it was more than I thought it would be
I will leave my mark so everyone will know
I was here
I want to say I lived each day, until I died
And know that I meant something in, somebody's life
The hearts I have touched, will be the proof that I leave
