Mark 13:21-37, “Jesus Olivet Discourse: Part #3, Jesus Answers The Question, “When Will The Temple Be Torn Down

And What Will Be The Signs That This Is

Fulfilled”

The disciples ask 3 questions:

1. When will these things be?

2. What will be the sign of Your coming?

3. What will be the sign of the end of the age?

3 Divisions of the Great Tribulation from Jesus’ reply (from Bible

Exposition Commentary):

1. The beginning (Mark 13:5–13.

2. The middle (Mark 13:14–18).

3. The events that lead to the end (Mark 13:19–27).

We have looked at secular studies that reveal

exponential increase the signs Jesus described: 1. Men who claimed to be the Messiah or Jesus Christ

2. Graphs showing exponential increase of wars last 100 years

3. List of Terror Organizations operating today

4. The International Strategy for Disaster Reduction organization’s graphs showing the exponential increase of all manner of natural catastrophes in the past 60 years

5. Exponential increase-Christian persecution in past 100 years

6. We looked at the three sets of seven judgments that make up the Tribulation of the book of Revelation: Seal, Trumpet, and Bowl Judgments

7. Increase of sociopath today in fulfillment of 2 Timothy 3:1-9

8. We looked at timetable of 70 week prophesy of Daniel 9.

1. We are going to look at the events that will occur when Christ returns at the end of the 7 yr Tribulation

2. We are going to look at the book of Revelation’s description of the Millennial Reign of Christ that will occur after He returns.

3. We are going to look at the judgment of Christ that occurs after the Millennial Reign of Christ, and the new heavens and earth God will create

Mark 13:21-22:

Jesus says false Christs will arise at this time but we are not to listen to anyone who says that Christ is

here or there

Mark 13:23:

Jesus to take heed

Mark 13:24-25:

Jesus tells us that after the events of the Tribulation that the sun and

moon will be darkened

‘the powers that are in the heavens will be shaken’ at this time

(see Colossians 2:13-15)

Mark 13:26-27:

We will see Jesus coming in the clouds and the angels will gather

together the elect from all the earth
