GRID4EU, an EEGI labelled project

The GRID4EU project is labeled EEGI Core project:

The EEGI core Label acknowledges that a project is fully in line

with the spirit of the EEGI and EEGI Functional Objectives as

specified in the EEGI Research and Innovation Roadmap.

The EEGI (European Electricity Grids Initiative) is a

European Industrial Initiative under the Strategic Energy

Technology Plan which proposes a 9-year European research,

development, and demonstration programme to accelerate

innovation and the development of the electricity networks

of the future in Europe.

Developing methodologies for the scaling up and replication is one of

the four priorities for Distribution System Operators identified in the

EEGI Implementation Plan 2014-2016

Four DSO priorities from the EEGI

Implementation Plan 2014-2016

The Distribution System Operator (DSO) priorities for the coming three

years encompass the following main targets:

to improve distribution grid performances involving communications

improvements, network operations and asset management,

to initiate research and development studies on new market designs at

distribution level

to reinforce the cooperation between TSOs and DSOs through a

focused set of joint R&I activities

to develop methodologies for the scaling up and replication studies that

are needed to prepare the deployment of promising results obtained

from the field demonstration of innovative solutions

Thanks to the IEC method, enriched by the work done in M/490

mandate of the European Commission we have been able to describe

each use cases with a common and shared method.
