I like the shallow depth of field in this scene (focus pull). It adds focus to the character, also enhancing the story line upon him.

The use of household objects adds a realism to the video. It also shows the lifestyle and gives the audience clues into who the character is.

This shot shows distress and emotions through the use of placement of the character and objects in the room.

M83 MIDNIGHT CITY

I like the framing of this shot, the items and character are placed really nicely.

The extreme long shot creates massive holes of space which are filled with beams of light breaking through the roof, this creates a supernatural feel.

The effect that is caused by the light hitting the lense creates a blinding effect which then tracks into the girl as she is revealed.

MODEST HOUSE “WHALE SONG”

Using a solid background gave emphasis to the character and his actions.

The demolished background coupled with the overlay gives a gritty texture.

Surreal objects and actions are seen throughout the music video which gave it a dream-like feel which which allows for a non linear story line.
