    Section 02Instructor name: Cory Kerr

Description: This is my brochure for the event management company I hope to own one day. I decided to make this

version a little more fun and colorful than my original designs. First I created the bow logo on the front in Illustrator. Then I Created my Brochure in InDesign. I had to

watch a lot of video tutorials to ensure I got the exact look I wanted. I think of events as gifts; a one time present to

celebrate an indvidual or an accomplishment. So I wanted my Brochure to be like a gift. I set it up so as you opened it, it would be like opening a present. My gift to you would be

my services. My audience would be anyone looking to hold an event. Wrapping text around an object was so difficult

for me. I spent majority of my time cutting around the picture and getting it to work properly.

Description: A montage I created about the SaviorFirst I took pictures that I had already taken of the temple and looked to find a more inter-esting message I could portray that still had meaning to me. I tried to find an inviting picture of Christ, and a stand out picture of the tem-ple to emphasize their importance in the message.I tried to portray a message of invitation and love through light. I wanted to show that they are essential to our happiness, and nothing else should interfere with our relationships with the two.I had a hard time finding pictures to match the message I wanted to portray. I really liked masking, it was almost like double exposing a picture. I sharpened over the picture of the temple. I then did masking over the picture of Christ.

Description: I designed a stationery for a business that I wanted to start for myself

in the futureFirst, I looked at other event planners stationery.

I wanted it to be simple and classy. I also wanted to infuse

celebration into my stationery, while still making it simple. I used InDesign to create this project.

I wanted elegance, celebration, and simplicity to be the key focus of this card. I want to have my business open to

all, and make myself seem approachable. I want to have this open to

brides, corporate companies, and private event hostess

I am terrible at logos. I really need to get more in depth and figure out a better way to

    represent myself.

Description: This is a logo for a sailing outfitters company. They specialize in outdoor attire, specifically

for water outdoor sports. I used illustrator. I looked at hundreds of outdoor clothing companies logos to kind

of find the type of company I wanted to create. My inspiration was patagonia,

as they are my favorite outdoor clothing company. I tried to emulate their vibes through my color

scheme, and use the helm as a representation for the water vibe I wanted to portray.

I wanted my logo to be simple and calming. I chose colors like blue to emulate the water and the

sky in the patagonia logo. I wanted it to be invitational, yet calming.

I learned how complicated it is to simplify. I originally had a grand idea that looked way

too busy to be a real logo. It would have been good for two separate companies. after taking out the main artwork stretched across the helm I could picture it on

a tag of a shirt or even on the pocket of a shirt. I figured simple is better.

Description: This is a photo I edited and designed in Photoshop. I used a Nikon camera to take this photo. I then edited the vibrance and color balance to try to emphasize the reds and the greens naturally occurring in this photo. I tried to create balance by using asymmetry. I felt this was a calming reminder to get out there, even when it doesnt look like the best day. I feel like young adults are the main target audience for this design. I really need to get more familiar with a camera. Adjusting ISO, white balance, and f/stops are incredibly complicated and I didnt know how to do that It has a Complementary color scheme with the Deep Red (Burgundy) & Bright Green (Forest).

Description: This Fundraiser and Event flyer for an Emergency Preparedness course. I used Microsoft Word

to do this project. First I looked through magazines and personal photographs, and decided on the photo I used. I then tried to draw colors from within the photo to choose the colors of typefaces and background boxing. I wanted to use alignment to create hierarchy and a line. I feel the

loaf of bread is a focal point. I wanted to show this was to do two things raise money or items to be sent to a broken country what to do with little resources in a time of crisis. I

wanted a cold feeling to exude from the flyer. I also wanted to give an idea of the things that would happen, visually

and in text.I definitely enjoyed working in Microsoft, because it was something familiar. It was much

easier for me to maneuver things throughout the docu-ment. With that being said, I really feel like to get the best

and most rewarding experience I need to be stretched and do things I really dont enjoy to learn how to do things the

    best possible way.

This is my flyer design. I wanted to do something classic, clean, with a touch of innovation. This flyer is for a Graduate Leadership conference, for seniors nearing graduation. I want-ed to portray a message to those seniors that this conference would be an awesome opportunity for them to be innovative, creative, and network, while gaining critical skills for business development. I used adobe inDesign for all of the actually design work. In Adobe inDesign, I tried to focus mostly on aligning. I mixed an old style font with a sans serif, to enhance contrast and to create visual interest without being over the top.The first title font I used is called Book Anitiqua, and it is an oldstyle font. My Tag line, I used springtime and it is a sans serif. My body copy and second title font is called Sukhumvit Set, and it is also a sans serif.

Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): This is the webpage design I made for an event company that Id like to own one day. First, I created the logo in Illustrator, Then i created the back-ground image to mirror the logo in Illustrator. Then I spent the majority of my time working on finding hex codes to create the color scheme. I wanted something to be standout and expres-sive of how fun I want my event company. I learned that CSS is so much fun! I really liked the way things went. I would have loved to have done this sooner, because I enjoyed it so much. I corrected this one through changing things slightly in the CSS. Everything took slight tweaking to get the exact greyscale
