    ABOUT DHAKA THE CAPITAL CITY:

    The capital of Bangladesh is Dhaka with its exciting history and rich

    culture. Known the world over as the city of mosques and muslin. It has

    attracted travelers from far and near through ages. It has history dating

    back to earliest time. According to recorded history it was founded in 1608

    A.D. as the seat of the imperial Mughal Viceroy of Bengal.

    Star Mosque

    Star mosque locally known as Tara Masjid. The mosque has ornate

    designs and is decorated with motifs of blue stars. It was built in the first

    half of the 19th Century.

    The seven Domed Mosque

    In 1680 the period of Subader Shaestah khan, this mosque was built.

    Basically it has three domes, but other 4 inflated tower of Four Corners

    makes the name seven domed mosque.

    Lalbagh Fort

    Lalbagh Fort or Fort Aurangabad, an incomplete Mughal palace fortress at

    Dhaka on the river Buriganga in the southwestern part of the old city. The

    construction of the fort was commenced in 1678 AD by prince Muhammad

    Azam.
