Presentation Notes
HMS is not just EHT… A successful system begins with engineering When you need heat tracing…you need more than a piece of heater cable! It all starts with sound engineering Why? Heat tracing is a system of independent components designed to work together to provide a temperature solution. Be certain to evaluate the complete system needs. Whether for freeze protection or temperature maintenance, all heat tracing systems require: Cables (often a variety of cables and technologies are used on one project) Components (power, splice, end terminations) Power distribution (power supply, ground fault equipment protection devices) Controls (self-regulating, thermostats, control and monitoring systems – on/off, proportional control, PASC) Accessories (glass banding tape)

Heat tracing application for off-shore

1. Icing Prevention(enable safe operation for most severe low temperature/high wind and humidity environmental circumstances) for:• Escape ways • Hand Railing• Stairs• Helicopter deck• Prevention for ice-peak breaking and hurting of people• Freeze protection of water systems.

2. Process tracing:• Facilitating process condition of media like fuel gas, Hydro carbons, etc.

Propriety

Icing prevention can be realized by • Anti-Icing (prevent ice formation); • De-Icing (remove ice).

With safety and reliability feature, self-regulating electrical heat tracing is widely adopted in the icing prevention applications.

The design maintenance temperature of 0℃to +2℃ is usually specified even though sea water freezes between -2.8℃ to 0℃.

The Heat Management System is complex in that its design and, therefore, its cost and reliability, are influenced by a multitude of engineering disciplines:

Process

Mechanical

Electrical

Instrumentation

Piping

TTC bridges across these disciplines, delivering the right

expertise to design, build, operate, and maintain the safest,

most reliable, and lowest total cost heating system.

The Role of the HMS Integrator Bridging the Project Disciplines
