The Kiosk is built; designed by Lockwood de Forest

1939The Forest Section continues to be planted, now replacing three-quarters of the original olive orchard

The Meadow is planted with native plantings (wildflowers and strawberries), as well as the introduction of the oval shape and elimination of the parking at the lower end of the meadow

1940The Pritchett Trail is developed among chaparral vegetation and provides access to the wooded slopes west of mission creek

1941The Campbell Trail is developed with the rustic Campbell Bridge; the trail links oak woodlands to the west side of Mission Creek with the central part of the garden
