What are the minimum hardware requirements to install and operate the Service ADVISOR application?

Hardware and/or network minimum requirements:

• Hard drive – 120 GB Recommended

• 1-3 GB RAM (4GB of RAM requires a 64-bit OS, which is not supported)

• 32-bit Windows Vista Business or XP Professional Operating System (64-bit OS not supported)

• Minimum Screen Resolution of 1024x768

• 8X DVD-ROM Drive

• Internet Connection (Mandatory to download the license; broadband recommended for Incremental Updates)

• 2 USB Ports

• Keep Hardware updated with current video drivers

Optional:

• Serial Port (optional for 5015 connections; USB to serial adapter can be used)

• Parallel port (if using PDM; USB to Parallel adapter can be used)

• Bluetooth with WIDCOMM drivers (optional for EDL connection

CAN busses

Note: Electronic Data Link (EDL) V2 (Version 2) is available. This EDL V2 will be required to run CAN Health test that will be available on later releases of Service ADVISOR.

An Electronic Data Link (EDL) is a computer that serves as a communication translator to enable a computer with Service ADVISOR installed to be able to talk to the machine's on-board network, controllers, and sensors.

Starting a New Job

The startup box contains radial buttons that allow you to:

Edit Job Description

1. Select File>Open/Manage Jobs.

2. Select the Job from the list

3. Click on the Edit Job button.

4. The Edit Job Details window allows users to modify the Job description or when applicable modify the PIN for a selected model.

Manuals Search

A manuals search provides you with the ability to search through all manuals or selected manuals for the current model you have entered.Asigura posibilitatea de a cauta prin toate manualele sau manualele selectate pentru tipul de echipament.

Search criteria options include the word search using AND, OR, EXACT.

Note: “OR” is the default.

Test Signal Strength (3) - Test the Bluetooth wireless signal strength of the selected Bluetooth EDL device. A signal strength that is too weak or too strong may not be able to support a readings connection.
