Dear brothers and sisters,

We have received information from Msgr. John Fell, Direc-tor of Priest Personnel, that Rev. Pauly Thekkan, CMI, is transferred from Hospital Chaplain, JFK Medical Center, Edison, to Hospital Chaplain, RWJ Barnabas University Hospital, New Brunswick, with residence at our parish, effective November 1, 2018. From November 2nd to 12th, I will be away from the par-ish traveling to Nagaland for the launching of a dictionary in Naga language. This is a project that I have directed and edited. The visit will also give me a chance to visit my family. God Bless, Fr. Abraham

CHRISTMAS TREES MEMORIAL/WISHES Once again this year our churches will be surrounded by REAL Christmas trees illuminated beautifully with lights and on each tree will be a beautiful plaque dedicating that Christmas tree as a memorial to someone who has died or perhaps as a gift for the living, or perhaps in Thanksgiving for what God has given. People have re-ported feeling wonderful seeing their loved one memori-alized on of our large beautiful real Christmas trees. Throughout the Christmas season, Mass will in-clude the intentions of all those for whom trees have been memorialized, whether living or deceased.

On December 15th after the Vigil Mass for the 3rd Sunday of Advent, we will have a blessing of the trees, and after a countdown, light the trees which will then remain lit each evening during the whole Christmas season until the Feast of the Epiphany in January.

Please consider memorializing one of these beautiful trees. The cost to memorialize a tree will be $150 each. This will cover the cost of the tree, lighting of the tree, and the memorial gift for the church.

You will find a Reservation Form in the Bulletin which you can fill out and return to the Parish Office with your memorial offering (contribution or donation). Remember, the number of trees are limited so preserve yours as soon as possible.

Youth Ministry The Youth Ministry meets each Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s Church Hall. All high school age students

Question for Children: How often do you put God first in

your life? Do you think you can love others as much as you

love yourself?

Question for Youth: What do you think Jesus meant when

he said to the scribe, “You are not far from the reign of

God”?

Question for Adults: When you heard the Greatest and New Commandments, which one should you improve on in your own life?

Amoris Laetitia: Love is Patient !92. Being patient does not mean letting ourselves be constantly mistreated, tolerating physical aggression or allowing other people to use us. We encounter problems whenever we think that relationships or people ought to be perfect, or when we put ourselves at the centre and expect things to turn out our way. Then everything makes us impatient, everything makes us react aggres-sively. Unless we cultivate patience, we will always find excuses for responding angrily. We will end up incapable of living together, antisocial, unable to control our im-pulses, and our families will become battlegrounds. That is why the word of God tells us: “Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamour and slander be put away from you, with all malice” (Eph 4:31). Patience takes root when I recognize that other people also have a right to live in this world, just as they are. It does not matter if they hold me back, if they unsettle my plans, or annoy me by the way they act or think, or if they are not every-thing I want them to be. Love always has an aspect of

deep compassion that leads to accepting the other per-son as part of this world, even when he or she acts

differently than I would like.

Church Humor - Seymour Goes To Heaven Seymour was a good and pious man, and when he passed away, the Lord himself greeted him at the pearly gates of heaven. "Hungry, Seymour?" the Lord asked. "I could eat," said Seymour. The Lord opened a can of tuna, and they shared it. While eating this humble meal, Seymour looked down into Hell and noticed the inhabitants devouring enor-mous steaks, pheasant, pastries and vodka. The next day, the Lord again asked Seymour if he were hungry, and Sey-mour again said, "I could eat." Once again, a can of tuna was opened and shared, while down below Seymour noticed a feast of caviar, champagne, lamb, truffles, brandy, and chocolates. The following day, mealtime arrived and anoth-er can of tuna was opened. Meekly, Seymour said, "Lord, I am very happy to be in heaven as a reward for the good life I lived. But, this is heaven, and all I get to eat is tuna. But in the Other Place, they eat like Kings. I just don't under-stand." "To be honest, Seymour," the Lord said, "for just two people, does it pay to cook?"
