Translational Research Grants Scheme (TRGS)• Competitive research grants• For staff employed within the NSW public health system
• LHDs• Specialty Health Networks• NSW Ambulance• NSW Health Pathology
• Medical, nursing, allied health, population health practitioners• Up to $1 million over 2.5 years• Total funding pool $5 - $8 million per year• 62 projects over four funding rounds, worth $30m
Purpose of TRGS• Research projects that will translate into better patient outcomes improve the delivery of health services improve population health and wellbeing
• High quality research• Relevant to the health system – research priority areas• Potential to be translated into policy and practice• Reduce time from evidence generation to implementation• Enhance research capability and capacity in the NSW health system

Intellectual property• Intellectual property (IP) arrangements should be agreed
between the host and partner organisations, according to local policy
• IP arrangements must cover both background IP and IP that is developed during the project
• The arrangements should be detailed in the application, if applicable
• IP support through OHMR • IP policy and support service under development
